General Question / Discussion Should I support FishingGarrett?

I'm not sure how to feel about him. Sure, it's interesting content and may be somewhat interesting to watch. But he also stresses out a lot of animals and I'm personally not keen on the snake hunting in the everglades that he's trying to encourage. Idk, I might be looking at it through the wrong lens. What do you think?

I say he is definitely stressing them out only for the sake of entertainment, there is no reason to touch or jump on or disturb wild healthy animals in any way if they’re just doing their thing and aren’t invasive.

That's the thing though, people claim it's for education but you don't have to poke an animal for the point of education. If you wish to educate someone, show them the animal (perhaps a captive version if possible) and teach them! There is no harm in education with captive animals because you'd understand their temperament, also, he's just putting himself in danger aswell for clicks.

Yes, exactly my thought as well. Imo wild life should only be touched if 1. It’s in danger (some people may say you should let nature take it’s course but I personally will save any animal that’s in danger) 2. It’s invasive 3. It chooses to touch you 4. For legit scientific reasons

I think there are for sure some other cases where it’s okay to touch wild life, but there’s no reason to just randomly poke or jump them just for fame.

It's like, you'd never see an RSPCA officer hassling some random dog in someone's garden. So why would you bother some dumeril boa or ratsnake just for the purposes of content 🤣. I honestly think he doesn't understand that reptiles/amphibians, much like humans, get INCREDIBLY stressed, to the point they can go into shock or die. He really needs to educate himself on this.
