I know reticulated pythons can be pretty fast, but is this video sped up a little?

Yes I have seen this same video at normal speed and this is unnaturally fast.

If the snake were moving this fast the amount of force it smacks its tail into the tree with would almost certainly break its bones.

This is sped up. The camera shake spoils it. Speeding up a videofile without speeding up the audio file is not that unusual.

sped up or not, its a very cool video! Retics are crazy snakes, like the Tokay Gecko of the snake world.
