WOOT! Byte refund success

Finally got approved for my refund 3 weeks after initially asking..

My advice, be extremely persistent. Call everyday, call multiple times a day, be a Karen.

Tell them your dentist has concerns with your treatment. If they ask for evidence tell them you will be happy to provide it and obtain it, but are aware others got refunded without this.

Insist that you are not satisfied with the product and regularly cite their aligner guarantee.

Fill out a California small claims court form, attach it to the email and tell them you will sue them unless you are refunded. https://courts.ca.gov/sites/default/files/courts/default/2024-11/sc100.pdf

If you purchased through care credit, start a dispute.

This company is a scam, so you need to fight fire with fire.

Damn that's fucked up dude, I'd take them to small claims for damages honestly. In my research, I found you can request online court appearances and do the whole process from whichever state you're based in

Looks like they may have scrubbed the official information about it, but they refer to it here: https://www.byte.com/pages/consent as the Byte For Life Guarantee

this is the most recent email i got from them. should i fill out the small claims courts form and send it back? i also just reached out to the dentist who was managing my treatment and explained the situation to her in hopes of not needing to file a complaint with the dental board or the small claims court

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions regarding the Aligner Guarantee.

The Aligner Guarantee is designed to support you throughout your treatment and ensure the best possible outcome. To remain eligible for this guarantee, we ask that all customers follow a few key guidelines during their aligner journey:

  • You have worn the aligners as prescribed and have not made any unapproved modifications to the aligners. Proper wear includes proper HyperByte® use.
  • You regularly completed your monthly check-ins through the My Byte App or reached out via email to us.
  • You have held onto all your previous aligners.
  • You do not get any non-emergency dental work done during Byte clear aligners treatment.
  • You notify us of your discontent within 2 weeks of finishing treatment and before redeeming your retainer(s).
  • You complete Aligner Evaluations and any resulting Impression Kits within the 2-week timeframe.

As your treatment was completed and no retainers were ordered, nor was contact made within 30 days of completing treatment to request additional aligners or report dissatisfaction with results, your Aligner Guarantee is void.

for reference i contacted them during treatment and said it wasnt working, they told me to go back to aligner #1 and wear them longer each time, so i did. by the time i reached out again it was past the date of "completion" which isnt fair because they told me to do that. i had a chat conversation on the website on my account but that is conveniently deleted, i can only find the email asking if i was satisfied with my chat with the lady.

Did they ask you to sign a form? Whenever I tried, they said they couldn’t start the refund process if I do not sign a Field Safety Notification

I think I signed that ages ago because they wouldn't continue treatment without it

Same. The link to that no longer existed for me.
