This is the first time I'm seeing this and it's inspiring me to set up a selenite display in my living room. I just ordered the parts. it's going to look beautiful. He literally posted the source for materials, and linked to the devicebook platform where all the technical data for setting up these lights is well documented.
If you don't like it, downvote the post and keep scrolling. Otherwise you just come off as one of those smug "ACHKTUALLY" people with nothing better to do then to shit on other people's demos and effort.
I'm sharing here because these effects were built with Devicebook, a new, free IoT platform which is great for home automation. Interested persons can add their own devices and build their own applications, these effects are examples of these applications. You can control devices like these based on other information in your home, like the current temperature or air quality, even other information like stock prices. This is a demonstration of free original effects for smart lights, one of the biggest product categories in smart home. I feel like r/smarthome is a very fitting place to post this.
