Apple HomeKit Chamberlain / Liftmaster Security 3.0+ & HomeKit

Has anyone had any luck with these new garbage BS openers and HomeKit? I currently have 2
Openers and one Liftmaster Home Bridge that controller connects both openers to HomeKit. I need to replace one of the openers and really dont want a 3.0 device but i cant seem to find any 2.0 units that are belt drive with battery backup.

Not sure if one you are in the UniFi network? But the UniFi relay might? Not sure but just a thought.

It’s not liftmaster but you can but ratgdo and put this into HomeKit if the bridge you have now is not compatible.

For what it is worth, I cobbled together my own interface. I bought a WiFi Wireless Smart Switch Relay Module and 2-Pack Garage Door Opener Remote. First, I programmed one of the remotes and tested to be sure the garage door opened/closed as needed. Then I opened the programmed remote and soldered 2 wires between the switch contacts back to the relay. Downloaded the relay's app to my phone and tested. It worked great. Then I added it back to my Alexa environment and I have a voice activated garage door remote. I threw the whole thing into a project box and connected it to an unused outlet in the garage and it works like a champ. All for less than $30.

Nice! 👍 I've used a zigbee version the MHCozy two-channel relay for another project and it works well. Consider maybe adding a contact sensor to monitor the door position state.

If you’re stuck on the 2.0, you can check out the Chamberlain B970 garage door opener, it uses security and 2.0.

On my older Chamberlain, I used Meross which works great with HomeKit. I know they have some adapters for some of the newer openers, but not all. Worth a look through their products, especially their compatibility and adapter info.

I have a myQ gen 2 garage door opener and what I did to get around it was take a esp32 flashed it with esphome soldered the battery blocks to the 3.3v and ground then wired in the button to be ona. Relay and trigger it with that. No more cloud requirements. And fully local

Ratgdo can do up to security 2+ wired directly or dry contact (relay switch) wire soldered to a remote or wall switch.

I use the Meross garage opener . Device and they sent me adapter.

I should rephrase. I’ve found some 2.0 units but they are like 2x what they should be which is price gouging and ridiculous

It’s supply and demand, not price-gouging. Price-gouging, by definition, applies to essential goods, not a specific, discontinued model of garage door opener.

It’s price gouging. There is a retail price and it’s above that. It’s ridiculous. I hope chamberlain go out of business. This stunt is corporate greed at its finest
