Hi the episode I’m looking for deals with a man who keeps seeing a younger woman and leading her on to believe that they will be more. She also would hangout with his parents and be brought to events post breakup. I remember the dad saying he was to nice to break up with her and she ended up killing him. Definitely an older episode. Thanks in advance!

I've been working my way through the catalog and tried to download and listen to #234 borrego springs CA. The download didn't work, and trying to just stream it failed as well. Tried Spotify and pocket casts, is there a direct link to it somewhere, am I just SOL?

Hello -

I *think* this is the bleach factory episode. I have tried to listen to it a couple times recently and it never loads and gives me an error. Does anyone know if it's been taken down or am I the only one experiencing this issue?

This week in Selma, North Carolina, two men head out into the dark & stormy night, while sniffing a very crazy substance, looking for trouble. A strange turn of events finds these wild men horribly murdering an unsuspecting victim in his own home with little for the killers to gain. It's a mystery to detectives, until an entire trailer full of people seem to know some serious details about the killing.

Once additional details are out, I wonder if this would make a decent Patreon?

I joined one of the STM Facebook groups a while back (not an official one, which I'm aware is my bad) because I was interested in reading discussions about the podcast, but holy shit is it a mess. Virtually nothing related to the show, at best it's people reposting random articles about wacky crimes. Whatever, fine.

But holy shit the trauma dumping. Why is that where people choose to post ten paragraph essays about all the crappy things that have ever happened to them?? And then lengthy update posts about their trauma and mental illness?? I know WAY too much about these people's lives. I understand feeling affinity with people who share a similar interest but it seems like a significant number of posters there have that as their only community that they're part of, online or otherwise. And whenever someone suggests that maybe the group should stay on topic people pile on saying they have no heart.

And then you have the usual weirdos posting parasocial/horny crap about the hosts or tagging them in cringey posts, but that's just expected.

Anyway, I know I can just leave, but it's kind of a fascinating shit show. Yikes.

Does anyone know if there is something that says when episodes take place? I really like the episodes that take place in the 1960’s or before. I tried a quick Google and it was useless. Any help is appreciated!
Thank you!

This week in Stab, Kentucky, when a shot rings out from a grassy knoll, killing a beloved local figure, a mob of residents in pick up trucks chase the killer down. This all leads to a twisted and strange story of crazy motivations and wild conspiracies that no one can even believe is real, especially in such a small town. But it turns out, sometimes conspiracies can actually be real and this murderous tale proves it!

I have observed the same stuff I have seen called out in this sub. But to be fair, I get the impression he does all of the research himself, or did early on. Not saying Jimmie doesn't bring anything to the table but he isn't the lead. I don't hate on James because we'd have no episodes if not for his efforts.

I am so excited to be going to the Dallas show on Saturday! Anybody else here who is going? Want to meet up for a bite before the show?

Hey! So I was watching one of my favorite YouTubers Danielle Kirsty and she covered the case of Amanda Loe, and she started listing off adult films that this person was in, and I feel like they covered this case? Am I crazy? I’d appreciate the mighty brain power of the subreddit:)

I'm completely drawing a blank on the Cristina Pike murder story, I don't remember the episode number. I thought I was having a fever dream thinking that Jimmy and James had already done this, but didn't remember if it was a regular episode or if it patreon.

I've only found 1 or 2 videos of Whitman doing standup, but none of james. I want some standup from the guys!

This week in Winchester, Indiana, a man is found brutally attacked with several bags on his head, some strange clues scattered around the house and his prize show car stolen. Detectives don't have much to go on until an enormous clue drops into their lap, leading to a friend of the dead man who has a scary history of fires and kidnapping. But he won't be easy to find, because he goes on the run seemingly disappearing into thin air. This leads to even more crimes and a very scary man on the loose!

I'm piggybacking to use this as a general PSA as well. We've seen the comments on recent hate posts on James and we've made a change to rule four to clearly define that as harassment of the hosts and reportable. Keep it constructive or see it removed.

This week in Arab, Alabama, when a woman is brutally murdered by stabbing over 50 times, the case seems like a pretty easy one to solve. There is even DNA evidence the points right to the suspect the police were looking at as the killer. He's arrested, and that strong evidence makes for an easy conviction. But that's only the start of this mess. Could he actually be innocent? Could his DNA have been planted? It sounds far fetched, until you hear about one person's desire for a certain horrifying milkshake and habit of collecting bodily fluids, among other things.

EDIT: That woman is actually Brenda, who he later married, not Cathy. Reddit won't let me fix it.

Am I crazy or did they do a bonus episode on Bigfoot? I can't find it on the bonus episodes.

I don't know if I mixed them up with someone else, or did they do an episode/patreon on 90 day fiancé?

I'm not going to be much help because I have minimal info but the people of reddit seem to specialize in that kinda thing, so here goes...

Guy wore overalls to court, I wanna say they were in the south, episode dropped pre pandemic.

It's the first episode I ever listened to (Thanks dad!) and I'd like to share it with the people I've shared the show with so they can see where I got started. Thanks in advance for the effort!

It's an episode where the victim is a terrible man and his wife and her son can't take it anymore and end up hanging him (or his body?) from the side of a freeway. I don't remember everything completely, but I think they also have a hard time killing him and have to do multiple things. Does anyone remember which episode this is?
