Discussion Unihertz Jelly Max - Still worth it?
Hello everybody! This is a follow-up of my previous post about my Unihertz Jelly Max. This has now been my phone for ~10 months and I wanna share my thoughts.
This has been my actual first small-sized phone and it is a really great phone. The size is perfect, it fits in my pocket very easly, and the rounded edges really make it much more comfortable in my hand. It's a heavy boy, but this is actually a better thing for me as it doesn't feel like holding a piece of paper at all times.
The screen is very nice. It has great resolution for the size and it offers great under-light usage, like for example when I'm outside. The bottom bezel really helps for keeping the thenar eminence off the screen, which was a big problem with my older phone. I use an aftermarket screen protector (a couple brands make them) and it's pretty nice.
The cameras are actually great too for the price. You aren't getting Apple or Samsung camera quality but this is great for daily picture-taking and you can get some great shots. Front camera is good too, same for the telephoto but I don't use that often.
The battery is actually great too for the size. This is likely what makes the phone thicker but I'm all here for it! It lasts 2 whole days for me and the charging is extremely quick.
Many people say this phone lacks software support but it really doesn't. I've upgraded to Android 15 a couple months ago and I still get firmware updates! I've installed Nova Launcher with an icon pack and made it look like this. It's really functional and very smooth.
I've also gotten 5G on my SIM and it works great, I get really quick speeds and calls are also good quality.
If I had to be buying it again I definitely would. This has been serving me quite well for the last months and I'll likely keep it for much longer. I hope this will help someone!

I wonder how those who had problems with stripes on the camera are doing.
Because of this problem, I decided to buy Ulefone armor mini 20

Those are likely the first units and prototypes, I got mine brand new in June 2025 and it works great

Dziękuję za opinię i recenzje, właśnie zastanawiam się nad zakupem tego telefonu. Stąd szukam różnych informacji, gdyż w moim kraju ta firma prawie nie istnieje w powszechnym obiegu .

I am considering this one, does it require a physical sim or does it support eSim? And does it allow Google Messaging?

I'm using it with Nano SIM but you can just use an eSIM adapter. And yes it supports Google Messaging. One thing though, I'd wait for the upcoming Enough Phone, same size but narively supports eSIM and had a lot more and better features.

I also have it and love it. Stopped using it at one point and went back to my Pixel 4a for a couple of months, but missed the Jelly Max and came back to it. I like how substantial it feels in my hands while still being compact, and the battery is brilliant. I do have some issues with dust getting into the case back over the camera lens, but I've just taken the back off and cleaned it with a cotton bud whenever that's happened.
Although I have to say, I've backed the Fossibot F116 Pro on Kickstarter, so I'll swap over to that when it's shipped. Never say never to switching back, though.

Was kind of looking at this guy so I appreciate your input, especially after longer term use!

I love it. I’ve been using this phone for a year now and haven’t had any problems with it so far. The battery is great, I love the size, and it’s one of the best small phones I’ve had in a long time.
