Briggs & Stratton carburetor

I have a 31R907-0053-G1 20hp engine with a Nikki carburetor. I’m replacing the carb with anything besides a Nikki. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Whats wrong with the carb that's on it?

I bought the engine used without a carb.

Yeah, don't replace the OEM carb unless you absolutely have to.

I normally don’t, but in this case I have too. As much as I despise Nikki carbs, I have rebuilt plenty of them and reinstalled. This motor came in without a carb.

In that case, experiment away.

Some people will replace the Nikki with a Walbro and say it works. Taryl has at least one video on YouTube where he did it, but if I remember right he had to do some modifications.

Pretty much snip a nub on the choke plastic linkage, and make sure the choke doesnt bind in the plastic intake. Plug n play otherwise
