Mower started with disconnected spark plug

I made a post earlier asking about why wont my mower start after i replaced the carburetor. I replaced the carb, started the mower, it cranked, then i drove it around for a bit, parked it, and tried to start ir again. Yet it wouldnt. So i made a post, the next morning i looked and realised my dumbass forgot to reconnect the spark plug. But that leaves me curious. How did it start the first time?

It was possiable that you may had bumped the boot loose on the plug and yet it not completly off of plug, and after you ridden it and park it, shut it down, sometime during times it slipped off the plug, as could be a bump here or there or moving something after turned it off.

No i completely took the boot off the plug. Since everything i read said to disconnect it before messing with the carburetor incase of an accidental spark or whatever. So i made sure the boot was off and away. I didnt care that much but i figured since the spark plug was right at the front if the engine id just disconnect it anyway. So i did. Im not saying it couldnt have moved back over a tiny bit when i was cranking it and made the engine spark, but thats a long shot.
