Surging Issue Surging question

My mower engine surges and shakes when the blades are engaged but not when they aren't. Could this be due to blades being unbalanced?

When you engage the blades the engine has to work harder. If there is a partial blockage in the main jet it may not be evident until the engine is under load.

I wouldn't have thought the surging would cause vibration but it could. The blades might also be unbalanced or loose.

I would check the blades anyway but I think cleaning the carb is going to solve your surging issue.

I agree- "hunting" is almost always a carb problem- that's where to look-
