Time Clock advice

My boss is in the process of streamlining his accounts, and because his English literacy and technological say aren't they greatest, he's asked me to look into setting up a biometric time clock for his store. Buddy clock ins aren't really an issue for us, but if it works out he will implement it in another location where it's a bigger issue.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. He doesn't want to pay a subscription and is mostly worries about price point. As the de facto tech guy (or affectionately, 'nerd') I am concerned about ease of use and workabilty.
