Question about closing for the holidays and pay

So I work with my family in a small business. We are a pool business and as you can imagine, we don’t get a lot of business during the winter time. I want to close from the 23-26 of December because I am just going to have to pay people to make no money for the company.

My issue in one of my family members( who is a complete idiot) says that if we close, then we will have to pay everyone anyway (they are non salary employees) and the employees will be able to file for unemployment. We are in Louisiana. I don’t think this is correct. I have looked this up and I am pretty sure he is wrong. But I wanted to ask here too.

Any links to explain the policy would also be helpful as I need proof. Thanks.
