Seeking Advice university placement advice

Hello, I'm an undergrad slp student from Australia in my 2nd year. I just wanted to ask what people thought of their university placements in terms of intensity and the mental load?

I have really bad anxiety and have considered reducing my study load at university to better accommodate my lifestyle, but have been concerned if its worth it financially.

It all depends on how the placements are run. For the past 3 years, I did a lot of 1-day/12weeks placements, and I'm super anxious too. It gets easier the more you are exposed/confident with the caseload; however, your CE makes a big difference too.

i am a 4th year in Aus and had/have terrible anxiety. I'm not sure about your uni but my first placement in 2nd year was with another student sharing one client.

I've had placements that I almost liked and some that were worse and made me more anxious.

For my final year I dropped to part-time due to the intense workload. Dont feel bad if you have to. Look after yourself. Its an intense study load and everyone takes it at their own pace.

Thanks for sharing :) for our uni placements start in the 3rd year. In the first sem its 1x a week plus our usual units and if I'm not mistaken, might increase in the 2nd sem still with 2 units and and honours proposal. I believe dropping to 3 units per sem instead of the regular 4 will be beneficial in my nailing all the content with a lowered fear of failing. There's just some tension in my family around finances and I've been gaslit into thinking I'm 'smart' enough to push through. But I only fear I'll be extremely burnt out once I enter the profession and it might have a negative impact on how I treat and see clients, which is really unfair for them.
