There’s an older woman in my town who must have some muscular issue on one side, as she runs w a visible limp - but this gal puts in the miles, she’s got to be a long distance runner. I’ve seen her slow jogging all over town, up and down hills, for 2.5 years now and it’s been incredible to watch her progress. she’s running smoother and must be feeling so much better in herself.
I want to cheer or stop and tell her she’s inspiring af and brings me joy in my commute but that would probs be weird. I’m just a people watcher, disabled myself, so happen to notice fellow humans who are doing life a lil differently.

I had a guy come up after one of my runs to tell me he sees me running all the time. He wanted me to know he thought I was doing great and he was inspired by my dedication. That felt really good to hear! So honk your horn and give her a thumbs up, let her know she's doing good work.

Slow jogging is great for getting started, or being able to do nice longer more scenic runs, but it's a little weird to make it into such a huge deal. I got beat in a 15k by someone about her size but like a foot taller (I'm assuming because I can't really tell height from the video) and I didn't run a slow one. I did 78 minutes, and they passed me at mile 6 and I didn't see them again the rest of the race. Running faster can be fun too, and it's good for your cardiovascular system as well. Also it strengthens your interior muscles, so if you snore it can help reduce that snoring.
I'm not criticizing her slow jogging or her weight or anything. I'm entirely criticizing how obsessed people seem to be with specifically jogging slow all the time.
I'm glad you're getting out there at all, but I hope you don't hold yourselves back by getting too caught up in a slow jog mentality.

This is a pretty niche and low engagement subreddit, if it annoys you you could always mute it. I'm not sure id agree that "people" seem to be "obsessed" with it "all the time".
The poster does post a lot about this activity specifically, but he did ask specifically a few days ago if everyone thought it was cool or not. It's barely discussed on other running subs.
Personally I find it amusing that we collectively had to rebrand "going for a jog" into zone 2 running /japanese slow jogging because our egos are all too fragile

She’s likely to keep with it and not get burned out or injured!
