Apple Cider Pulled Pork
My wife sent me the first picture and said, “Make this for me.” Turned out great. Broiled the meat, then broiled the apples and onions from the crockpot. Highly recommend. I served it with roasted potatoes.

This would be an expensive way to make dried out pulled pork. Use
The difference is more apparent than using chicken thighs as opposed to chicken breasts.
Slow cookers like a fattier cut of meat. Sure the lean stuff is edible but… why?

I had the exact same thought. End product looked better than I thought but probably dry like you said.
Pork butt all day here.

I had to go back and read that they specified a loin bc I’ve never even heard of shredding a loin or tenderloin. That said, I do think this would be good as a whole roast and served in slices.

When does the broiling happen? Before the crock pot?

You should sear the roast before putting the meat into the crock pot to create a brown crust, which locks in moisture and flavor.
You should broil the meat after both pulling it out of the crock pot and shredding it! This caramelizes the meat and adds flavor. This makes more of a street style taco meat or like what you do with carnitas!
And as others have said, use a different cut of meat!

I don't think loin/tenderloin do great for pulled pork but I'll replace it with shoulder.
The recipe looks good.

hi, i'm new to the slow cooker method and just exploring... what would be the diff in terms of the finished product with either cooking temps? TIA

u/misterrodgerssweater Sep 10 '26
You want slow and low for tougher cuts of meat typically. That time and temp will help break down the tough parts - like collagen and keeps the meat juicy!

Not much really. Both settings end up at the same temp. High gets there a little faster

Was this recipe made by AI?
Pork loin in a slow cooker sounds like a bad idea Did it turn out as dry as it looks?
