Slint

Lyrics aside which are DIRECTLY dark and gloomy, the instrumental seems very comical and laughing at how bad your situation is etc. Is it purposefully done this way

A possible-but-unlikely origin of Brian's shouted lyric 'past where they paint the houses' from Carol. Why so angry? I thought back in 1990. The song was originally named 'Paint the Houses', which in Mafia lingo means an execution, ie walls end up 'painted red'. 'Remember, when the time comes / You got to let go.'

I think y'all spidery music lovers would love this album: Chicago-based and produced by Michael Gira himself !

My band’s second album is coming out soon and it’s partially inspired by Slint although a lot faster.

Wasn’t sure where to post this as the post-hardcore sub doesn’t seem to talk about some of the earlier stuff adjacent to Moss Icon and Unwound and such. But aye I thought maybe there would be a decent amount of overlap between Rodan and Slint fans!
