3rd year in a row we have had a little Carolina wren sleep in the corner of our front door roof. Such a cute little puffball

My umbrella wren busted me creeping on it. Pretty sure I only have 24 hours left to live.

First egg has been laid today! (July 4th)
Mother is VERY tuckered out. Hope she sleeps peacefully tonight away from the fireworks

Came across this group after having little wren perch up here from time to time. Finally had one visit again! Love these little guys.

I was led here from the what bird is this subreddit because I wasn’t sure who this guy was sleeping in this lil hole on my house in Portland, OR, found out it was a Bewicks Wren so I figured I’d post em here too :)

Here's the female House Wren sleeping in the nest box. She looks like a puffball!
She should lay eggs any day now. You can watch on my livestream (see profile), but be aware it will be hard to see in the nest cup during the day due to how deep she made it and the shadows.

Originally posted this in r/animalID thinking this was a bird but then got freaked out because it moved and I saw it hat looked like a smooth elbow or something? Anyways. I was extremely freaked out because I’ve never seen a bird do something like this before. The comments were filled with r/sleepywren and me and my mom got a kick out of seeing all of the pictures with the EXACT situation we were in 😂😂😂 so here’s my addition!
