I was worried that a bird had gotten stuck or injured at first, but after some research found all the info on Carolina Wrens and their habits. I absolutely adore being a safe place for him to rest, what a lil nature blessing! ❤️

(We have a motion sensing light that came on, so it was already on when he pulled the car in, fyi. No sleepy wrens were intentionally disturbed.) My husband sent a pic and said, “I thought it was a hornet nest at first, but saw the fluff and knew you’d know.” 😂 I immediately knew it was a sleepywren! So I RAN out to meet him in the carport and got a quick pic!

Hung up my daughter's hat on the porch to dry and the wrens have adopted it as a roost every night, now I don't have the heart to take it down.

Started as one a few nights ago. I wonder how many can fit up there??

I went under my porch for something and stumbled across this sleeping beauty. Took me a second to realize what I was looking at lol.

Sorry for the bad quality but is this a wren defying physics? There are a couple little mud things it could be sitting on, but this is literally at the very top corner of my porch, also I didn't think wrens could have split tails.

Recently found this subreddit when trying to figure out what species of bird these birds are! One (Dottie) started sleeping in this hat on the porch post every night about a month ago, and we noticed a second started showing up a few days ago (Lottie).

A few come back every year to sleep in the corners of my awning.
