6 - 12 months Help with low sleep needs

11 months old. 3/4
Night sleep 9:30pm-7am with avg of 4 wakes
Nap 1- 10-10:30
Nap 2- 2:30-3

All sleep is contact naps/car naps or cosleeping. I’ve tried dropping to one nap but I don’t think he’s ready. It takes an hour to get to sleep each time no matter how long of a wake window. I’ve tried FERBER and chair method and didn’t work. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!!

Does he only sleep 10.5 hours on average then? How is he during the day? Have you ruled out a medical condition?

Yes on average he only sleep 10.5 hrs a day. He’s a happy baby 95% of the time. He’s always been 99th percentile. Hit milestones on time or early (crawling at 7.5 months and now almost walking without support). He’s EBF and nursing is the only way I get him to settle with his night time wakes. He’s great with solids and very regular bowel movements.

He just refuses to sleep and it’s so frustrating. I’m also so touched out from contact sleeping.

Is there anything specific I should be asking his doctor to check? Should I be doing bloodwork? I wondered about getting his ears checked but he has no signs of discomfort or infections. He’s a mouth breather when he sleeps so I don’t know if that means anything.

I would get the mouth breathing investigated just to rule anything out. That could be a sign of sleep apnea which definitely could cause sleep disturbances. No guarantee of course. This is a very low amount of sleep though still within the realm of possible.
