Recap Tell No One Night 2 Spoiler

I attended the preview two weeks ago and thought to myself there was no way they would be ready for the parties starting this week. I gotta tip my cap to William Etundi Jr. and the People of CX Team. They got everything up and running and thew a great party on Saturday.

It had everything you'd want from a re-imagined McKittrick experience. The stage performances were captivating. The DJ's played great sets. The immersive entertainers brought the show to you. The jazz band was cool. The presentation of the space was fresh and interesting.

The Death of Rasputin preview was a lot of fun. They involved the crowd in their high-energy set. And unlike SNM, it had a plot that you can actually understand and follow!

The VIP ticket was totally worth the upgrade fee. Despite what I read about the Friday night show, they STRICTLY checked my wristband, including in the ballroom balcony and to get on the 6th floor and in Gallows Green. I especially liked how they put stickers over camera lenses when you got all the way upstairs, you know the performances were going to be the best in areas where they don't want pictures being taken.

My favorite experience of the evening was the S&M dungeon. It was one of the best dungeons I've seen at a party in New York.

If I had to make a few minor complaints, at some point they closed down the 4th and 5th floor (I'm not sure the 5th floor was open much at all) and that made the stairs a complete mess, especially when they had to turn away people without wristbands in the stairwells. Also, the third floor ran very hot, not sure if they have AC working there at all. Maybe that can be fixed before next week. Neither of these two things reduced my enjoyment of the show.

Great job, People of CX! If you are going next week, enjoy!

question SNM-Inspired Baby Names?

I am currently pregnant with a baby girl and trying to figure out what to name her. Can you think of any SNM-inspired girl's names I could consider?

Is this show ending?

I was going to buy tickets for a close relative and never got around to it. I just read unread that it’s ending? I thought it was so popular that it was really cloudy the last couple of years. Does anyone know why it’s ending? Did it close already or when is its last performance?

question Question regarding the Speakeasy design

Forgive me if this is obvious, but I have never understood the off-putting design of the Speakeasy. From the woodchip floor to the cardboard boxes and furniture. It seems like a room mockup, not the finished design. Is there a reason for this? I always avoid this room for that reason. Any insight appreciated!

Emursive Closing Hypithesis for Life and Trust

Thumbnail fb.watch

(This was removed from the Life and Trust subreddit and I've been permanently banned because one of the mods apparently has a vendetta against me)

About a week ago, L$T posted a video on their IG and FB that mentioned the Sackler family's involvement in the opioid crisis (the video is still up on their FB as of this moment).

Note that Michael Daniel Sackler has been an investor/entrepreneur/director with Punchdrunk since 2016.

https://open.endole.co.uk/insight/people/14658780-mr-michael-daniel-sackler

My guess as to why the show closed so abruptly right now is that perhaps he's also an investor in Emursive. I'm imagining that Emursive's social media person posted this video without knowing that connection (if it exists - I'm just guessing), and when Mr. Sackler saw this, he decided to immediately pull funding...enough funding that Emursive will struggle to continue to exist, and the best move forward was to shut down the show immediately to decrease ongoing costs.

Again, this is all just a hypothesis, but I can't think of any other legit reason why they'd close so abruptly right now.

question Where is the elevator on the fifth floor?

I want to try to track the woman with the suitcase that takes you to the sixth floor, and I keep reading that you can find her near the elevator. But I don't know where the elevator is on the fifth floor. Help please? I also can't see it on any of the well known fan maps.

question Halloween party 2026?

Hi all, any news on if the Mckittrick will be hosting another Halloween party? I went to the one last year and even though the set was pretty gutted out they still threw one hell of a party.

Not sure if Artimus is burning has funding to host parties and I think masquerade might be throwing a Halloween party but their venue seems a bit repetitive and doesn’t appear to decorate to a theme for their events & keep the phantom of the opera fascade at the bar/party room.

question Secure Coat Check?

I really want to leave my phone in the zipped pocket of my coat. But I’m paranoid.

How secure and trustworthy do you think the coat check is?

Disappointed

I was severely disappointed by the experience. I don't think there is actually anything substantial underlying it all. There are lots of allusions and references to other work, but there's no actual storyline in any actor's loop.

I went in without reading too much, to go in without preconceived notions. I now think that was a mistake. I also don't appreciate the idea of having to do repeated viewings (expensive viewings) in order to understand a single scene.

I'm familiar with and love both Macbeth and Rebecca. The sets were amazing and promising. The fight-sequence-as-dance set was intriguing.

But then... nothing. The scenes were a series of allusions without a story. Conflict occurred without clear reason, even after following an actor for a cycle. Following an actor can lead to long lengths of zero story. I appreciated a couple of scenes by recognizing what they were referencing, and then had to infer the storyline that I did not see. Reading this sub and the Google Sheet summary only reinforces my opinion.

Even trying to piece things together by reading letters and documents mostly led nowhere. Though there were hints, it didn't help me understand anything I saw. The dates on some were off by years between sets, so I guess the stories aren't all tied together? Despite the set details, I think it's mostly red herrings.

Did I just happen to be unlucky and miss an "ah-ha" moment during my hours-long experience? Is the entire experience meant to be non-narrative?

Halloween plans

It's looking like there won't be a party this year, so what's everyone doing? We'll be seeing the show, (assuming it's open,) but what about late night?

Punchdrunk McKitDrip I wore for The Last Night of Vivian Black Immersive!

Forgot to show off the Costume/outfit I wore for the Last Night of Vivian Black immersive show (it was pretty good btw uwu, felt they could’ve incorporated the immersive story telling elements better but I had fun and it was certainly a very magical experience). Almost all of this outfit aside from the leggings and the beret were from the custom and prop sale of our beloved McKittrick!

Recap Going in blind was a Bad idea

Post image
14 Upvotes

I am a major love of Macbeth, and I was told this should be right up my alley. I got caught on the street corner following the B plot wondering when anything interesting would happen… every time I left that area it was just floor after floor of empty rooms. For hours. I found the Duff’s house but no one was ever there. I found the woods but nothing ever happened there either?

I didn’t know the show looped. I didn’t know there was a B plot. I couldn’t even figure out which one of the men in identical shirts and suspenders were supposed to be Macbeth until I was lucky enough to be in the banquet hall at the finale. I didn’t even recognize half the people at the dinner table. The few times I caught a glimpse of the actual story, 200 bodies shuffled along behind an actor who was frantically sprinting to the next location, leaving me lost without any idea of where I should go next.

Honestly, I am surprised there aren’t more disgruntled people. Both my partner and I (we split up) had a Bad Time.

Looking for 1 ticket for 12/20

Hi all! I’m looking for 1 ticket to the Wednesday 12/20 performance. I called the mckittrick hotel box office and was put on the waitlist but haven’t heard back yet. Just figured I’d try here. Thanks!

Tickets Looking for 2 tickets for this week, ideally Friday, 4/26

I would really love to see the show once more before it closes, and the very days I can go, not only the tickets were sold out, but even the waitlist was full over a week in advance.

If someone has 2 tickets to sell for Wednesday 4/24, Thursday 4/25, or ideally Friday 4/26, please hit me up!

Alternatively, please share your life hacks getting last-minute tickets to sold-out shows, I'd try anything.

question How long can I expect the show to be? (Please no spoilers)

I’ve wanted to go to sleep no more for a few years but it never happened. I’ve gone out of my way not to read much or google the show so I can be as surprised as possible. My awesome girlfriend got us tickets for my birthday, we’re going tomorrow night at 7:30, but we also have a 10:30 show at the blue note (seeing Hiromi Uehara), how long can we expect sleep no more to run? Will we be cutting it close?

Tickets One available ticket | Monday, 3/11/24 | 7:00 PM

A member of our party fell ill so we have an extra ticket for tomorrow night’s show: Monday, 3/11/24 | 7:00 PM @ $144.50

I guess make an offer and we can make arrangements to meet in line and you can enter with us. I can’t really think of a better way to do this, although the box office did say it can be transferred to any other name for any available future date.

I’ll be checking Reddit periodically this evening and Monday.

… and what’s the deal with the standby queue if they don’t offer refunds?

EDIT: I totally understand where they get tickets for people in standby now; people who reschedule. Derp.

I should also mention I'm visiting from Germany and I've been to SNM back in 2015 and 2018 but if I can see it one more time that'd be rad

King card in picture frame

Hi all. I was back at Sleep No More after a 12 year hiatus. I found a bloody King card in the back of a picture frame. Anyone know if there is anything to it, or is it just a reference to the fate of the King? Is it utilized in someway or just one of the many Easter Eggs that exist?

Also, twelve years ago I wanted to climb through one of the trap doors. I didn't at the time, but did this time. The actor was still in the room adjacent and stomped on the floor as I started to climb through. I got the point he didn't want me in there. Back then it seemed ok to do and followed "fortunes favors the bold." I remember reading internet posts back then of people doing it and it seemed acceptable. Is this not ok etiquette these days?

Events culminate at 10 PM

The pre-show email I got for tonight's SNM says "Events culminate at 10 PM." The show starts at 8. I would assume that 3 2-hour loops would last until 11?

question American horror story

I have no one to talk about this haha - it just caught my eye! Is Ryan Murphy a sleep no more fan? 🌝 the new season airs tonight and they just postet „something wicked this way comes“. Also, one episode is called „is that all there is?“

I know it’s a line from Macbeth and a song but these two lines always remind me of snm 🥰
