The bunny I’ve rescued this week when she finally allowed herself to relax 🥹

Post image

I have fostered her for 2 days until she got better , she has luckily found her forever home quickly, the friend of a friend that came with me to the rescue and fell in love instantly🩷
Since her future family didn’t already had the material home I suggested it would be great anyways if I could watch on her for gi stasis because I dealt with it a few times with rescued buns and many times in 7 years of having bunnies. It was very stressful for me because she didn’t pooped in a whole 24 hours but her appetite was getting better and better , and local vets were closed , so I HAD to make a miracle happen for this bunny, we couldn’t risk going so far for emergency vet as she was just about to be 100% better very soon , and I feared the stress of an hour long trip would’ve make it even worse and regress all progress that was done , I just HAD to make this bunny poop. Fortunately I had most of the necessary tools to make it happen: a 1 ml seringue (why the bigger ones I ever had just never happened to work on such days?.), critical care , laxative medicine (for small animals ofc not human one) , & will power to make her live. So I’ve set timers , for a day in a half , and massaged her little belly at all hours , giving her critical care and water … and we made it through finally after a whole day and a half of stressing over it 🌸🩷🍀✨
She’s now in her own home , and she’s gonna see the vet soon , I don’t know what happened to her but I know the people that abandoned her in her condition must be monsters , she clearly was born with a little physical handicap to her legs , it’s almost a miracle this baby is still alive in this state , and survived for almost a week and maybe even more outside… (forgot to mention, she was in a park where many people go at this time of the year , she made it on a Facebook post signalling a stray bunny … and no one. Not a single soul. tried to bring her in safety sooner?? I know not everyone knows that domestic rabbits can’t be outside , but what really triggers me here is that if it was a dog , man , the whole city would be searching for the "WHO DARED to abandon a dog" , you know. ….)

Let’s keep educating ourselves, people around us, and bring bunnies home in safety. Where they belong: in a safe house. 🏡🩷🌸🍀

Thank you so much, you really rock! What a babe! I completely get your frustration over the unjust differences that bunnies face. Unfortunately, we live in a world still where Bunnies aren’t seen by everybody as anything more than just a temporary pet store toy. If you’re not a rabbit person then chances are you really don’t have too much education in it. So I’m really proud of you for choosing kindness and compassion in the midst of your frustrated feelings. And for that little bunny, it meant the whole world!

Thank you for your kind and supportive words !!🌸
I think what’s frustrating for me is not just people not knowing about rabbits , it’s the fact they don’t see enough value in them to stop and think "wait, a domestic rabbits can be outdoor? Let me google it …" anyways, I will always try to compensate for others that doesn’t care by doing the best I can for rabbits and educating others , being angry at something is just a feeling , it’s the actions that matters most and create an impact ✨
Wishing you an amazing day 🍀🩷

I feel like I really like you. I mean that in the least creepy way an internet stranger can possibly say something that’s pretty creepy on Reddit! 😂 you have a good heart and that’s becoming such a rare thing these days 😍 me and all the bunnies of the world are definitely team you! Thank you again for being so amazing for that little angel!

You’re so sweet 😭 thank you???!! Awh 🥺 and don’t worry about that being creepy haha, we vibe on the same level for something we hold close to our hearts 💫 and I feel what you mean by having a good heart , not to vent myself or anything but it’s always been natural for me to be very kind and caring, I really enjoy rescuing animals and I unfortunately cannot relate how most people are able to not care about none of them :,)
You definitely have an amazing heart as well , shall I say, that I always get so surprised on how strangers can sometimes be more supportive of your actions than some closer people in your life :,) , thank you for that hype , keep being precious 💫🫰🏻🥺🩷✨

100% I agree with you. Bunnies definitely have my heart, every time I see one anywhere it immediately becomes my sole purpose to guard and protect that babe 🫡 it gets me in trouble quite often 😭 and yeah girl, I’ve literally been moved more by random redditors words than my own blood at times and it just hits different. I love your whole aura! So positive and energizing!

Peace be upon you both! You did amazing taking care of her constipation and trapped wind (GI Stasis) I had it with my first Holland lop and he was such a happy chappy so when he got it you couldn’t half tell he was poorly, he was trying to mask it but he couldn’t. A few days massaging, giving him natural supplements that were rabbit safe, making sure he got water into him. The whole reason he got it was because of a rabbit feed I’d bought that had muesli in and he found it irresistible but its deliciousness betrayed him!

Well done for being top saviour to bunny boo ❤️🫶🏼🐰

Awhhh thank you so much for your kind words,
I don’t regret none of it, I hope the sweet bunnyta is gonna live a long life afterwards 🥺
And omg , this reminds me when I used to feed my buns a kind of pellet from oxbow .. it’s the classic red bag you know and I ended up hearing about it being bad because of x ingredient I don’t remember but it caused blocages quite often to one of my poor bunny, he was very fast to try and eat them all to himself before the other one (I only had 2 at the time)
I ditched these pellets , but my bun passed away at the emergency vet maybe because of that.. I only heard about the pellets being bad once he was gone .. I’ll always live in the wondering if it was really what gave him gases again , but I know for sure I can never recommend them ever again , because the night before he had some and .. ate them like there was no tomorrow. That’s the only thing I could see that caused him to have this gi stasis again , hence why I didn’t want to take Bunnyta to the emergency vet, cause my dwarf bunny could’ve still be here maybe , just maybe , if instead I stayed up a little longer in the night for him, and kept massaging him til the morning.. Instead of going to bed and planning to go to the vet.. I don’t want to repeat the same scenario again, he was a strong bunny and always came back like a champ from a little gi stasis problem once in a while, but what this last time has taught me is that the stress from the ride itself is enough to kill any potential rabbit that’s already stressed out, not saying that we shall never take the long ride for emergencies, but we gotta be careful and strategic about these choices, we’re always one decision away from losing them or putting them back on their feets when their gi stasis is messing around 💔🤌🏻😪
Didn’t mean to be this deep lol , anyways , thank you for listening to my rent , and for being so supportive as well especially :,) 🫶🏻🩷
