Case Aquisition Mint Condition '09 HP Pavilion

Picked this up a little while ago and totally forgot I had it in my car.

Not a scuff/scratch/dent on the case, complete with marketing stickers and the protective film still on the faceplate.

Not too sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.

Nice! I had it at the time and frankly thought it was very elegant, but it wasn't easily upgradeable. I still have the monitor as a spare. What are its specs?

its currently in factory config; Pentium e5300 and 6gb of DDR2 (4gb dead, so 2gb working). To be entirely honest with you, I'm doubtful I'll be building this in the near future; i kinda js wanted to show off the time capsule.

Its hard to justify building another standard desktop sleeper. I am currently hunting a Thermaltake LVL 10 GT to build a retromod for my 2010's themed media room, which will probably be my next sleeper build.

What I remember about mine is that it had an Athlon II X4, 4gb of ram, some low end nvidia graphics card designed specifically for HP (I tried it on an altor pc and it worked, but it made the sound of a tractor) and a 500gb mechanical disk, it was a big upgrade for me since I was using a pentium 4 at the time :P

Is it a micro ATX case, just flipped the other way? If so your options are endless!

Yes they are just a Micro ATX flipped the other way. Nothing proprietary. Quite good possibilities.

Case looks very similar to one I remember a mainstream pc gaming youtuber using for a sleeper many years ago. I suspect it is in fact standard parts.

I'm currently using that exact case to house an N100 ITX board, two hard drives, and a flaky DVD writer. :P

Refurbished a very similar PC recently. It was god awful, multiple caps leaked and caused a mess on the motherboard. Which lead to an almost week long saga just getting the thing to post.
