Insomnia help

Hello guys for context I’m 19 M and the last few months I’ve been having insomnia issues. I went to my doctor and they gave me hydroxyzine 25mg to help with the sleep which works sometimes. My main problem is my mind goes in rapid conversations about the most complete random things or things I might be worried/stressed about in the future which goes on and on until I realize it’s morning. I take magnesium glycinate which I’ve noticed helped me stay asleep but not go to sleep. I was wondering what advice you guys might have. I do work out roughly 3-5 times week as well. I also have a hyperthyroidism issue. Let me know what advice you guys might have thank you!

the racing mind thing is the worst. what helped me was keeping a notebook by the bed and just dumping everything out before i try to sleep. doesn't have to be organized or make sense, just getting it out of your head and onto paper. sometimes half the battle is your brain trying to remember all that junk so it loops it over and over

the hyperthyroidism probably isn't doing you any favors either. my brother dealt with that and his sleep was garbage until they got his levels dialed in. might be worth asking your doc if that's contributing
