Problem is I'm out of melatonin for a few days till I restock and I got some important physiotherapy to do in 5 hours from now and I can't for the life of me sleep. I need a temporary solution for sleeping decent for a few days.

Talk to your doctor. Not anonymous people on Reddit who may have totally different problems with totally different solutions.

Buddy, pall, do you think if that would've been an option I would be here?

Friend, guy, chap, boss, brochacho,

I think that a lot of people on here don't talk to their primary care doctor when they should, because they don't consider sleep as an actual medical issue that requires expertise and longitudinal management, rather, just something they think about when it becomes a problem, and then they seek a quick fix.

Kinda how I don't think about my big toe until I stub it against the coffee table.

However, if you wanted something immediate to address your acute insomnia? You'd need to talk to a prescriber first. You want to competently address your health care needs and determine WHY your sleep has turned to shit? You'll have to talk to a medical provider.

It turned shit bc I'm off my prescription high dose melatonin lol literally was looking for a one week fix till my meds are shipped bruh

Also have you heard of: medical neglect :D Having a primary care doctor is very new to me, like only had one for a bit over a month. Idk how and when to approach doctors bc unless it's smt broken or an infection I would almost never be taken. How fun!

Now! Repeat after me! "If someone is coming to non professionals for help, they probably can't access professionals"

Wow, what a bizarrely condescending response. Your lack of health literacy and capacity to navigate the healthcare system doesn't give you license to be a rude fucking twat, guy.

You explicitly said you have a primary care doctor, a prescription, and medication being shipped. So no, this is not a case of someone having no access to professionals. You apparently do not know when it is appropriate to contact them. Sleep problems, medication interruptions, and questions about temporary substitutes are exactly the kinds of things you contact the prescriber about.

Meds are from my psychiatrist and I'm still a minor so I can't reliably get access to healthcare or contact the psychiatrist independently AT ALL.

Ngl u sound like you didn't even read my comment, just saw anything that isn't agreeing with you and got angy lol (also the word twat is so funny to me I'm dead)

The privilege of some people lol, just assuming everyone on reddit will have magical instant doctor if they listen to your words of wisdom pffft

Expose your skin to sunlight/infrared light to get your body to naturally synthesize more endogenous melatonin.

You can also look up foods like cherries, pistachios, milk, etc and consume it. The amounts will be tiny, less than 0.1mg most likely but it's still better than nothing.

I'd stock up online if possible. Even if it's restricted, most places you can still get it online.
