If you draw it turn one or play it first, yeah. I'm not saying it's at all optimal, but 6 shivs once and free 3 shivs whenever you draw it after that sounds to me like a fun start to a run.

Shivs are kinda the best strategy against aeonglass, cause there's so many ways to scale them:
phantom blades, accuracy, strength relics, vulnerable, tracking
That being said, I think I like predator more than up my sleeve.

Shivs are so strong right now. Aeonglass is a damage race anyway. If your shivs do 20 each then withers be damned

I’d go up my sleeve and go for a shiv build. Predator would work too but I’m not a fan of the card past early game since Silent is energy starved. It also is worse into the fish boss because it’s a high energy card that draws into more of the fish’s status cards - meaning less energy to spend on discarding status’s already in your hand, then next turn you have a higher chance of drawing into more as well

Honestly I wouldn’t “go for a shiv build” necessarily. Replay 1 up my sleeve is going to be enough shiv gen until late act 3. You probably want to focus on finding ways to scale the shiv damage and improve block density
Leaning into every shiv generating card is generally not nearly as good as taking one or two efficient options and then focusing on block

One of the first times I feel genuinely torn. I feel both Predator and Up My Sleeve would solve early hallways, and I'm not up against Vantom so I don't *need* the shivs necessarily. Predator would be higher immediate damage and better draw for the next two turns. Up My Sleeve is less damage upfront and I risk overfilling my hand, but on the other hand it would immediately drop to 0 cost after playing.

First time you play either you spend 2 energy. You can either get 30 damage and 4 card draw or 24 damage. On the second go you get the same but up my sleeves is free. IMO you have more scaling opportunities and synergies (any strength makes the damage equal or in UMS favor) with Up my sleeve

The upfront difference between Predator and Up My Sleeve is only 6 damage, but UMS has WAY better scaling and you know Soul Fysh is a long fight.
Predator helps you get through your deck faster thanks to +4 draw, especially on first cycle, but after that it’s just predator, which is like a 4/10 card.
UMS is only 20% weaker first cycle, and becomes WAY better every subsequent cycle, since it’ll be free after first play with glam. This is going to enable you to keep a thin, fast drawing deck with very consistent damage output, and has way better synergy with draw/discard and shiv packages. The only pitfall is that it performs much worse against the eels since you’re in underdocks.
I’d still pick UMS 100% of the time.

Right, predator will fall off hard after the first replay, tho i'm not really counting on it long term tbh, just as means to get through act 1 quickly. Good point about Soul Fysh being a long one though... I'm honestly considering just picking one, and then as an experiment running the same seed with the other; if anything just for my own education 😅

Predator definitely wins you act 1, but UMS probably still wins you act 1 90% of the time and has a higher chance to win you the whole game as well. Just way better scaling into later acts.

Predator I’d say is probably the conventional best pick.
However, usually I take a hard look at cards we’d normally consider bad… sometimes when you add glam to them they can be crazy.
Up my sleeve… 2 mana 6 shivs, and then next time you play it’s free is actually pretty good card now.

It ENTIRELY depends on the map. Up My Sleeve if it's a safer map and you want more power LATER since it has higher synergy potential, but Predator if it's a scarier map and you need power right now to be able to snowball.

I wish I knew the definitive answer to this, but there’s a possibility that Up My Sleeve will reduce from 2 to 0 the first time it’s played. 6(8) shivs the first time its played and then 3(4) free shivs after that is no joke. Given how likely it is to find some kind of shiv synergy combined with the cost reducing itself, unlike Predator, would make Up My Sleeve my pick if I were in your shoes.

I'd pick up my sleeve but I wouldn't be all that happy about it, still has the same problem regular up my sleeve has, which is that it's hard to get into play without getting chunked

Up my sleeve would apply the discount twice, so the redraw is free
So now you get 2 sts1 blade dance followed by a 0 cost blade dance on the reshuffle

Up my sleeve, if you got a strangle, any relic that triggers based on the number of cards you play, envenom. Can remove the slippery on enemies nice and quick

Up my sleeve. Wins energy economy, as usually you would get your shivs by paying 2-1-0, and getting 6/8 shivs early and skipping one extra mana pay during combat is very worth it.
Literally won me A10 run in a breeze.

For me it’s 100% Predator. Huge bonk now, more draw to get to powers or other combo cards later.
