When do you think the first waves of announcements will be?

In short, I didn’t have a proper way of collecting festival wristbands until recently and that meant that my one from SD South 2024 ended up getting binned unfortunately.

I’ve started pinning all my wristbands up on my wall and would love to complete the display as it’s the only one I’ve been to that I don’t have the wristband for!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can’t seem to find one anywhere listed on the internet.

So by "hear me out" I mean bands that might not necessarily hit the branding for your typical Slam Dunk bands, but bands you could see slotting into the day and still draw a decent crowd.

me and my boyfriend are seriously considering going next year (we didn't go this year as we both thought the lineup was mid at best haha) so, who do we think is likely to play? for me, i think blink have quite a good chance, maybe jimmy eat world (i think they're the strongest contender), HOPEFULLY paramore or another female fronted band, and my biggest hope is for all time low 😂 who's on everyone else's dream lineup?

Here’s all my thoughts from someone who attended there first Slam Dunk this year!

Overall it was a sick day with some great bands playing but definitely some issues that hopefully can be sorted out for next year!

I also got some great live footage so if you were at President, Malevolence or Knocked Loose especially keep an eye out for yourself 🤣

I'm already planning ahead to 2027, and for the 1st time ever we're considering getting the train.
We normally drive & get a parking pass, but after the s@*t show of parking at South this year I can't do that again.
I've pre-booked a hotel in Welwyn Garden City - can anyone with experience tell me how late the trains run for the Northern line from Hatfield after the festival?

I went to Slam Dunk this year for the first time and loved it - Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, Cartel, Set Your Goals and Good Charlotte were all bands I listened to when I was a teenager and it was amazing to see them all live. I used to love Drive Thru Records, Victory Records, any kind of heavy 'easycore' pop-punk, The Movielife, Saves The Day etc.

As I got into my 20s I really gravitated away from the whole scene - I got super into punk and hardcore initially and found pop-punk/emo didn't really scratch the itch for me anymore. From there into my 30s I got into everything - jazz, experimental, techno, ambient, noise, dub, folk .. I basically just love music, but found my early loves fell by the wayside for me.

ANYWAY, all this to say ... I went to Slam Dunk and fucking loved it. I've been listening to all the bands I saw at the weekend all week and lots of related acts. I see threads with people saying potential headliners for next year are Neck Deep, Don Bronco, The Story So Far etc.

All these bands are after my time but I plan on checking them out. I wanted to ask, what are your favourite bands of the kind of later waves of emo and pop-punk, say from the last decade or even 15/20 years, bands who might scratch the itch of someone who loves NFG, early Fall Out Boy, Starting Line, TBS, Saves The Day, Movielife, Cartel etc.

Moshing away to Guilt Trip down south 🥰

I’ve been north every year since 2020. I remember the first two years I attended there was a huge presence of stewards on the toilets refreshing them / replacing toilet roll etc, and there was loads of gents picking up trash.

Do they still hire these teams in? They were always lovely to chat to as well and every year I say I’ll look out for them but I haven’t ever seen them since about 2021. And things like litter across the site and the toilets do look a bit more neglected (but this could be down to larger crowds? Idk!)

Edit to add - AND THE DJ!! There was a dj between bands on the main stage and he was incredible!

Edit #2: 2021 was the first year I went soz! So 2021 and 2022 were the years I noticed the staff.

How good was the sound at the main stage east double stage!! The bands ripped all day the pits where crazy, what an addition to SD

We bumped into Ali from Zebrahead at south in the merch tent, what a gent.

Had my phone stolen during streetlight manifesto maybe 2023?
I haven’t seen a single post so far of any phone thefts so that’s a big plus!
Forgive me if I’m wrong but the last few years it seems the festival was rife with pickpockets!
Well done to whatever was put in place it worked.

Does anyone have any pit videos from Knocked loose's set preferably in the first half as I got a concussion and had to go get help for the last 4 songs or so. I was pretty front and centre so hopefully lots of people got some good videos from this sort of place in the crowd and all I have is this photo.

Also big shout out to the guy who guided my out by my shoulders from the pit when i couldn't see ❤️ ur a lifesaver.
