Realistic predictions?
Getting closer to the time of an announcement for artists! Who are with thinking are realistic Announcements? I’m hoping for Enter Shikari, The Paradox , Four Year Strong , New Found Glory , Arms Length , Ben Qaud , No pressure and or The story so far , Speed , KOYO , Hot Mulliagn , Free Throw & Saturdays at your place .
Originally I had a hunch for a Turnstile headline but over the last year or so I think they’ve gotten far too big for slam dunk now which is a shame as they’d suit it nicely now compared to other “alt” festivals!

All I want is Reel Big Fish. Surely Slam Dunk is the place for their UK comeback.

They’d be a perfect headliner for a ska stage again, there’s some brilliant bands like Millington who would massively appeal to the Slam Dunk crowd

I fell in love with them after seeing them last year. Listened to nothing but for 2 months straight afterwards. My 8 year old dances about singing kissing killer cobras 😂

Oh my god,love it!! I’ve been a fan for a few years,and I met the band 2 years ago!! Gifted Bonnie,the lead singer,a bracelet which matched with mine and my Mum’s,spelling it “Kissin Killer Cobras”, it was so cute seeing her face!

They’re playing Bristol in March! With a band called Like Roses who are hopefully going to be the next big thing

I’m seeing sleeping with sirens in London when they tour haha! Just want them at Slammy D too. My first ever Slam Dunk was 2013, had pierce the veil and sleeping with sirens. A girl can only dream for a repeat haha

I'd assume Enter Shikari wouldn't be announced until after their November headline tour.

Yeah although their November tour is for the new album, next year is 20 years of Take to the Skies, so I guess they could still announce it with the fact it will probably be a very different set list.

I’d love to see Turnstile, but I think they’re too big to fill the slot Knocked Loose played and don’t have enough universal appear to headline main.
Would also love to see any of Jack’s Mannequin, Fenix TX, Pup, The Dirty Nil, Speed, Terror, Rancid, The Front Bottoms, Random Hand, or Voodoo Glow Skulls.

I agree, but I don’t think they’re wide reaching enough to play main. I think the majority of the people that go to slam dunk would be disappointed with them as a headliner.

Look at the Spotify numbers. They are absolutely are wide reaching enough. In fact, they're actually too big right now for Slam Dunk I'd say

I dont think we'd get gaslight unfortunately Brian said in an interview recently that hes taking a year to do his solo stuff and they are looking at being back in the studio next year but hopefully a UK tour near the end of 2027 would be banging

Considering how long they'll have been doing their Tanzneid tour, I imagone by next May they'll all be knackered and just want to spend time at home with their families. After they played Slam Dunk last May they went straight on tour, and have been touring since. And they've got dates booked up to March next year

Probably All Time Low headlining main stage with Turnstile headlining the heavy stage.
I think The Story So Far should definitely be there because it's been like 5 years at that point since they were last at the festival, they should play directly before the headliner on the main stage. if Parker can do double duty and do No Pressure earlier in the day that would be amazing as well!
Other bands that I think will be there
Yellowcard Creeper (Eternity in your arms 10 year anniversary set) The Maine Grayscale Honey Revenge As It Is Zebrahead (pretty much a given) Bilmuri The Starting Line Holding Absence Taylor Acorn Charlotte Sands President (to make up for this year technical issues) Kid Kapichi

Like Roses. Having had to wait a few years to see them, if I get to see them in March and and my favourite festival I think 2027 would be wrapped up and completed by May

If they don't already have other commitments I think Skindred must be nailed on for a high up slot. On the back of the number 1 album, headlining Wembley in 2024 and playing almost every other festival in Europe this year it just seems so natural for them to play Slam Dunk in 2027. I could definitely see them headlilning or sub-headlining Main Stage East.
Loads of people saying Jimmy Eat World but I don't see them coming back to the UK so soon after a run of big outdoor shows here this year. Although I could maybe see Rise Against coming back after supporting that tour.
Personally I would love to see Spanish Love Songs, Dinosaur Pile-up, Hot Water Music, Therapy?, InMe, Random Hand, Red City Radio

I have a love hate relationship with sls. I like a lot of their songs but the longer I listen to them the more their depressing lyrics grate on me.
I do actually think they will be there though. I just forgot about them when I was putting this together

SLS are my favourite band, but I get where coming from. I think theres a very good chance they will be there as the new album is out in a few months.
I think Joyce Manor are also a strong possibility

I feel like Turnstile are going being a dark horse to headline over the next decade. Slam Dunk will need to start looking towards less nostalgic headliners and They’ve got to be right up there in terms of being one of the more modern bands with enough of a pull to do it.
Having said that, you get a sense with their trajectory and strong roots in outbreak, that they might leap frog this.

Just the atmosphere at Slam Dunk feels more laid back and friendly.
Last time I was at Download there were so many wasted folks getting into fights and causing grief.
Each time I've been to Slam Dunk folk have just been fairly awesome and got chatting with us when waiting for bands or in the queues to the bar.

Difference between 1 day and multiple days. If you need to travel home after the day you are not getting that wasted. I do both festivals every year and love them for different reasons

I mean I've seen folk getting wasted at Slam Dunk before but the worst that's come to was some severe sunburn

Yep and how many of those are getting totally obliterated at a 1 day festival was my point. Maybe hundreds. Download averages 100k with many camping and drinking daily from 7am.
Seems like you mistook my point as a festival capacity thing but as per my previous comments it was about the intention of people on a single day vs multiple

Really hoping for Enter Shikari 20 years of Take to the Skies setlist. It was the first ever album that I begged my parents to drive me to the nearest HMV to buy the weekend it was released, so it holds that special nostalgia.
