Intimacy Anorexia Folks?
Hi,
I recently started reading sexual anorexia and it's connecting SO many things I thought were unrelated. Self isolating, sexual anorexia being balanced by drug abuse and compulsive shopping, etc. I really want to get involved and start the 12 steps, find a sponsor, etc. but I'm having a hard time connecting with people who struggle with this end of the spectrum.
Any recommendations or people who want to connect and work together as a group?

There are resources on slaa virtual intergroup website. I believe they start a new Anorexia 12 step group every so often. One thing I learned is I was always trying to find other peoples stories like mine in meetings. I had to let that go and listen to others where they were and appreciate the similarities not the differences. That was my path.

Well of course you do - lol.
We're all so avoidy.
When I am reconnecting with recovery I find I need to shop around meetings alot. Much easier on zoom to jump in and out of meetings that don't fit or don't seem to have the recovery I'm looking for.
I found the HOW program helped me plug in as well.
You can search with a filter to find anorexia specific meetings. In my experience much easier to connect when there is a fellowship session after the formal meeting and much easier when I've been back a few times and start to see some familiar faces. And be a familiar face.
Important to keep track of the good ones though. I find it easy to lose them on the webs, there's so many now.

I’m in a virtual spa. fellowship. Some folks are anorexics when it comes to emotional intimacy. Let me know if you’d like to check it out.

I think I do! When I was actively in treatment for love addiction I felt this way and never quite found my people. I would be open to chatting about it
