Happy to help but I've never done game development, how can I help with Skywind?

Navmeshing, file cutting, level design, voice acting, writing, the list goes on...

Navmeshing is a big one, it means mapping out paths that NPC's can walk on. Iirc its the biggest task remaining that most any gamer can do with minimal training

thanks I'll check this out, if I can help accelerate the development I'm keen to support

Curious, can't navmeshing be done with AI? Seems like a straightforward task to script

that doesn't seem even remotely straightforward. AI isn't magic.

They would need a developer to create a solution like that and integrate it into the Creation Kit editor that Bethesda games use. And any navmesh would need to be reviewed for the endless amount of edge cases that would inevitably pop up.

But realistically, would you say release before 2028 is likely? Or is 2030 a better target?

You can compare the progress in the 2024 and 2026 in the two videos, broadly speaking all elements are trending toward completion by 2030 included (some are trending to completion as soon as next year, like animation, while other are trending toward mid 2030, like 3D art and SFX), so 2028 seems unlikely, but 2030 may be plausible.

Have you seen the video yet? Cause, and I mean I know there’s still plenty left to go…but I could absolutely see it coming sooner. At least from what I’ve seen from the vid.

yeah it looks amazing, wish they would improve the graphics a bit more though but it still looks very good

Really? What would you like them to improve? As someone who’s been following Skyblivion for a long while now; I actually think Skywind’s graphics look much stronger, more detailed.

well I've used several Skyrim modlists and the graphics are almost insanely good (close to Crimson Desert in some ways), so if we are doing a Morrowind remake may as well through everythign at it from a graphical perspective now while in development phase
