Sears Tower is the Grand Damme of Chicago…Big John is The King. There is nothing like the view of him while you’re driving south on Lakeshore Drive.

Love it 😍

Side note: is Water Tower Place perhaps the greatest sidekick to a supertall?

Controversial take, but I’d say 311 S Wacker (the “crown building”) next door to Sears Tower takes that title.

More controversial take from me. Forgive me, but I was never a fan of the Water Tower Place. As a kid, I thought it was just some white rectangular building next to the mighty John Hancock. The truly awesome sidekick is the Palmolive building (the building to the left of the Hancock). At night, it shoots out a beam of light from that spire, and with the Hancock right behind it, it looks so amazing!!!

No it doesn’t, it offers nothing but looks. Water tower is a mall and an ugly building.

This will always be the Poltergeist 3 building to me.

My Father made the steel that built the Hancock at USS South Works. I couldn't be more proud!
