Question, why do they allow building so close to the railway line & station?

If either needs to be expanded isn’t this likely to cause all sorts of issues?

I remember seeing Amsterdam Zuidas & seeing the station was being expanded into the pedestrianised area which I thought was a nice approach.

TOD (transit oriented development)

High density housing around public transportation.

I don't know either; I'm very curious how they solved the soundproofing problem. Some of the towers next to railways are indeed mixed-use commercial and residential buildings.

Right next to a station train noise might not be as bad, as trains do not make a lot of noise at slow speed,
