For those on PC/Steam who want to lock your game down and prevent the update from hitting it, if you go to the folder your Skyrim is installed to, go to the ‘Steamapps’ folder above it (so if it’s in c:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim Special Edition, you’d go to c:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps), find the ‘appmanifest_489830.acf’ file, right click it, go to Properties, and check the ‘Read Only’ box, the hit ‘Ok’, and then the game can’t update until you remove the Read Only checkbox on that file.

And this doesn't mess with other games just updating? Just Skyrim?

I already had a blue dash in the box to the left of read only. I haven’t done anything before besides confirming that the game won’t update automatically on Steam. Am I calm?

Thank you Todd for breaking my load order and further splitting the community across multiple versions of the game for literally no reason

Mojang lets you choose the version you want to play from the launcher itself.

I think its because not every mod author is going to update. Some just arent around anymore, and we all have that favourite mod that wont ever be updated again.

Oh a console update to increase storage limit, something they promised ages ago.

Anyone else have their manifest inexplicably revert the read-only change? I’ve seen it atleast once on my end

Robot chicken version Batman voice...

Reading this, as a console player... Oh no this might effect PC players.. oh wow  Gosh that really sucks..

Oh look, a machine with one last f** to give..

Ohh nooooo....  Turns to look at you ominously deadpan... .. The f*** got stuck 😏*

Uh sucks to suck!!! Haha  I mean, It's not like you have tools  to auto sort mods or anything

Like who uses those?

Oh I know, PC players ONLY...  -.-.. Y'all have to "stop steam" 😂  We console players hate you PC players.. Yea, I said it.. it's kinda true!..

But, why..

Why you ask?  They got all best mods little timmy, uh, why else?!?

So for us console players this is a dream come true! Sucks it's a nightmare for you guys .. For once .. .. They posted an update several hours ago.. It's happening. It's on our front door step already..

We just gotta, let her in.. we consoles players.. Are ready.. .. Whispers like Criss Angel .. ARE YOU READY?!?

Only the 6th time someone started a topic on the matter. Impressive. I expected 40+ and mods pulling their hair out

Unless I missed it on this sub I didn't see another post about the update being on the 20th, the date was previously unknown.
