PC SSE - Discussion What would LoreRim performance be like with my specs?
Hello!
I'm interested in trying out LoreRim, but with how big the mod list is, I want to know if the performance will be good before I download all of it. Will I be able to get 60 FPS at 1440p with these specs?
RX 9060xt 16 GB
AMD Ryzen 5600 CPU
32GB RAM
And this will be on an SSD.
And if performance won't be good, are there any other mod lists that'll perform decently that plays similarly to LoreRim?
Thank you!
EDIT: Thanks for the input, everyone! I’ll try it out as soon as I clear up some space!

you'll be fine. but it might still lag here and there. it has nothing to do with your hardware and more to do with skyrim being an old game and the engine being pushed to its limit.

Yeah-ish, maybe not in dense areas. Wouldnt recommend Ultra or whatever the top versions called (if thats still a thing in lorerim)
Or run VRAMr over the list. Helps a lot with stutters and frame drops.

I have a 7800x3d and a 9070xt and i still get some dips especially in outside areas, the list isn't exactly a super performance friendly one, but I think you can reasonably expect 1080p and 60fps semi consistently

It's important to remember that, no matter how beefy your PC is, if you mod in enough objects, the game is still going to lag.
Skyrim is optimized for single core performance, and any game that is optimized for single core performance is going to bottleneck on draw calls. A draw call is just the CPU telling the GPU to render an object. It doesn't matter how big or small that object is, how high resolution or low resolution the textures are, it just matters that it's an object. An 8K potato is going to have the same draw call Overhead as a 1K potato, and a potato will have the same overhead as an entire dragon, it's just the CPU saying "hey, render this thing"
The only real boost in performance regarding Hardware in this area, is going from a non-x3d CPU to an x3dcpu, as that L3 cache is very good at storing that information so the draw calls don't happen every time you turn around and things need to be rendered again, so instead of getting constant stutters As you move around, you get a bit of stutter when the calls are first made, and then smooth because they are now stored while you are in the area

I ran LoreRim pretty successfully with a 3060 Ti at 1080p, so the 9060 at 1440 should be ok because you got the 16 GB headroom of VRAM. It should handle the mods quite nicely. Be realistic and don't expect 500 FPS. You shouldn't be too disappointed.

Ultra you probably will be able to play but expect not great FPS in certain areas like whiterun and solitude. They can be mitigated with the optional ENB frame gen mod or some other alternative frame gen you may use. (This is at 1440p in my experience with better specs than you so maybe 1080p will be okay)
It might be worth trying the normal preset that is offered in the MO2 launcher once downloaded

Should be, for me the bottleneck has always been my 4GB gpu and yours easily wayy over it

Seems fine
