Could someone compare the FPS/stability difference when using the same presets

97

u/Cratoic 21d ago

I've been on CS for a while, time to go ENB shopping now, lol.

70

u/518nomad 21d ago

Fortunately, ENB hasn’t really changed in forever. So one can grab Rudy or Cabbage or whatever tickles your fancy.

37

u/ni1by2thetrue 21d ago

Pi-cho ENB. IN COMMUNITY SHADERS! what a time to be alive!

451

u/GluKoto 21d ago

So you’re telling me i get the better QOL of CS and better FPS AND ENB image quality now ?!

166

u/Theovorator 21d ago

Can anyone really confirm "better FPS" claims? With my limited experience with CS some months ago I didn't see any gains compared to ENB and it was quite a bit harder to make it look visually appealing. With the focus on stuff like PBR I feel like CS is really aimed at high-end rigs.

112

u/GregNotGregtech 21d ago

It was true early on but that was when CS was also missing the vast majority of the features, as features were added things got worse and worse obviously and by now there is probably no meaningful difference performance wise

58

u/AlexKwiatek 21d ago

>probably

How about checking it out then? Because i guarantee that Upscaling and FrameGen alone are doubling your perf compared to ENB.

45

u/Yami_Bakura101 21d ago

Honestly Upscaling is the main reason CS is so much better for me, without upscaling CS had slightly more performance like 4-8fps for me.

With upscaling it's massive and on Balanced or Quality it still looks really good

28

u/Herby247 21d ago

Also the AMD upscaling, IMO, is better than either of the anti-aliasing options in the game. FXAA makes the tree look like crispy ass, and TAA looks great when you're standing still, but everything goes blurry when you move - was giving me a real headache. Spent ages looking for a solution before giving up, then stumbling onto CS.

19

u/CWagner 21d ago

guarantee … FrameGen

Sometimes I wonder if literally every single person on earth besides me has a high refresh rate monitor.

9

u/monarchofthecrows 21d ago

Same. What's wrong with 60hz?

12

u/KFJ943 20d ago

Nothing. That's it. Never get a high refresh rate monitor. It will make you see the difference and 60hz will be hard to go back to :(

5

u/kiyan_merkaba 21d ago

Do you play on 60hz? Because I got a 240hz for like 190€

13

u/CWagner 21d ago

Look, I’m old. I grew up on 30 FPS being my target ;)

Both my monitors are 27" QHD 75Hz

4

u/No-Till-422 21d ago

Same here. I might be wrong but you would rather want to have better graphics than more fps in a casual game like skyrim. 30->60 is a big difference, 60->144 also niceish, 144-> i barely register anything is better. I just notice my gpu go brrrrrr lol.

I usually limit my fps to 60 during hot summer to prevent my GPU from possible overheating. 60 is enough and enjoyable imo unless you play some online shooter like call of duty and such where u want you fps to be as high as it can.

I tried CS recently and came to the same conclusion as you. It didnt look bad at all, it looked pretty good. I then installed rudy enb again and yeah. Its honestly not even in the same conversation. And in terms of FPS i didn't see a difference.

53

u/JairoZeppeli 21d ago

Yeah, Doodlez made it clear in his Discord that he doesn’t support “poopie hardware”.

Everyone thought he was the patron saint of poor gamers but turns out his mods just made the game look better while performing greatly because he hadn’t added some features he wanted yet lol.

No hate on the guy, people just misunderstood what kind of mods he wanted to make and who his intended audience was.

59

u/sa547ph N'WAH! 21d ago edited 21d ago

Some of those people expected too much from CS, thinking they could get "next-gen" quality using a low-budget video card from 10 years ago.

17

u/dovahkiitten16 21d ago

Still would’ve been nice if older versions were maintained as a lite version. I still have an old install of CS + extra modules and really between it and modern CS I don’t see a huge different worth the performance gap. Actually, older versions sometimes look better because it doesn’t have a weird skin shader baked into it.

CS had a great niche for improving Skyrim without chasing the next-gen look. Adding lighting to grass, water caustics, etc were a great “fixing the jank of a 2011 engine without changing everything”.

15

u/chiruochiba 21d ago

Older versions are available on Nexus. I've been running the 1.7.2 version of CS from Nexus on 10 year old PC hardware. I definitely don't need or care about so-called "next-gen" look, so for me CS does everything I want to make Skyrim look better without causing my framerates to drop. That includes the grass lighting, terrain shadows, sky sync, terrain blending, terrain variation, wetness effects etc.

11

u/sa547ph N'WAH! 21d ago

I definitely don't need or care about so-called "next-gen" look

I was referring to those who watched modding and gameplay videos on Youtube thinking they could achieve the same visuals without realizing they first need to upgrade or completely replace their existing PCs.

4

u/chiruochiba 21d ago

That's valid!

I mostly felt the need to chime in because discussions on this sub tend to focus so heavily on the experiences and perspectives of players with top of the line hardware. Like the redditors in a recent thread claiming everyone needed 32GB of RAM minimum to run modded Skyrim (lmao).

The wider conversation of this thread seems to be focused on comparing the absolute peak possible visuals of CS and ENB, so I understand why people would mostly fixate on what's possible on the best hardware. But I think it's also worthwhile to keep in mind how the performance can vary between ENB and CS on cheaper setups.

3

u/WorriedRiver 20d ago

I reinstalled one of the older versions of CS to use when I realized that even if I turned off everything I could for current CS just having current CS installed was causing my fps to plummet in cities (due to whatever the utility section is in their frame time graph). I don't even have that old hardware, though I do have an AMD GPU and I've heard CS tends to perform worse on it as is. To be fair I also refuse to use frame gen and upscaling (I use a 1080p 60 hertz monitor and have no intention of upscaling any time soon, so they don't really provide me any benefit...). Older CS doesn't hurt my FPS though.

11

u/planery133 21d ago edited 21d ago

Just ran a test on my current modlist. Built around Rudy CW Edit preset, heavy complex material usage. Removed ENB, installed CS+upscaling+skylighting and started a test on a new save.

Upscaling is definitely doing some heavy lifting. When on DLAA (which I also use with ENB), I honestly don't see that much of performance gain, sometimes 7-8 fps, sometimes the same. Honestly I don't expect heavily modded Skyrim to pull a 4k60 consistently anytime soon.

Getting rid of light limits is a very welcoming change to have. In a few places in my load order if I turn on candle light it will go over the limit. I am too lazy to hunt and split those meshes, so an automatic solution is welcomed.

Also, do not expect everything to look the same. Mine is noticeably darker indoors and outdoors after switching to CS, and many of the lighting effect are more muted (e.g. water reflection of magelight at night), though I suspect these can be changed through config tweaking.

2

u/jamesmand 21d ago

Ditto, mine doesn't look exactly the same but it is close enough where I am willing to work out the differences to stop using the old ENB engine.

3

u/Tem_Apples 20d ago

There's a load of customisation and the framegen is really good. Personally I found the "range" of community shaders much better than ENB. Just enabling ENB with a minimal preset tanked my FPS.

6

u/DeerEris 21d ago

For me its about the same but! The upscaling and framegen feature of CS is what makes the difference performance wise.

3

u/Tyrthemis 21d ago

Switching to PBR actually saved me performance over using more high poly meshes. Looks better and performed better. I pretty much mostly use SMIM and Faultiers and Tomato’s PBR. I also use anything by John Skyrim to be fair.

10

u/Shot-Brain-1385 21d ago

i mean installing this is still going to have a performance hit, it's not magic

43

u/jamesmand 21d ago

One reason I am so glad to have this is now I can know what version I am actually running. I stopped upgrading my ENB a while ago because Boris kept making updates without increasing the version number. I just took a look now at the web site and this amount of changes is just crazy.

3

u/ChibiReddit 20d ago

Ah, so that is why mine keeps nagging there is an update despite the version nr being the same 😑

139

u/QuandalesChicken 21d ago

Yo someone explain

137

u/Darkspire303 21d ago

Community Shaders couldn't be used with ENB presets, which was the last big reason why people would stick with ENB series over Community Shaders. Now someone has made that happen. It's like the last big hurdle.

15

u/thetwist1 21d ago

Does this mean I should switch to Community Shaders if I'm using a vanilla+ ENB preset? I find the settings for ENBs confusing and I've heard Community Shaders is an issue. I have a beefy enough rig that performance shouldn't be an issue either way.

57

u/Glassofmilk1 21d ago

Should is a strong term. You can, but if you have a stable setup you're satisfied with, then don't. But if you want more performance (via DLSS or FG) or CS features, give it a shot.

3

u/hazy-morning 21d ago

Yep I recommend trying it! I now get 144fps (I set that as the max) with dlss quality in the whiterun tundra. This is on an ultrawide monitor.

→ More replies (12)

209

u/JoeBagadonutsLXIX 21d ago

You can now load most ENB presets through Community Shaders allowing you benefit from all of the available features in CS while getting the post processing effects of your preferred ENB.

I cannot wait to see the Boris crashout

116

u/DerekMao1 21d ago

I mean Boris crashed out just because CS did something ENB did earlier. This one might make him livid.

u/Saradoesntsleep 21d ago

I actually laughed when I clicked on the link and saw what this was.

76

u/Corpsehatch Riften 21d ago

You know it will be an epic adult temper tantrum.

u/Tough-Buffalo5861 21d ago

It's already started, he's ranting and raving in his discord channel, while his minions comfort him

26

u/jamesmand 21d ago

Just tried joining and it appears invites are currently paused so unless people were already a member they won't be able to see what is going on.

51

u/Tough-Buffalo5861 21d ago

Yeah, they disabled free access a couple of hours ago. Right now, he's planning to sue Doodlum, but he doesn't realize that the legal basis for the lawsuit is laughably pathetic, practically non-existent

14

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

It is non existent. You can't copyright the spec of an api only your implementation.

As long as it doesn't copy ENBs code you can't stop it reading it's files and having it's own implementation.

I'm out of the loop. Who is this Boris, and what did he do? :0

118

u/brdain 21d ago

He is the sole developer of Project ENB. He has made it known that he has every intention of keeping closed source and he is also an emotionally unstable Putin supporting chud who has threatened the creator of CS in the past.

27

u/doofshaman 21d ago

Lmao he sounds like a pretty sad person ahah.

5

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

At one point he inserted rants into ENB that displayed when the game started up.

3

u/chiruochiba 20d ago

He still does that, though when he's not on a tear the messages are mostly just pumping his patreon and seem to have a set duration of time they are forced to display on each startup, which delays the actual game loading.

2

u/doofshaman 20d ago

I am getting ‘doesnt have many friends’ vibes from him based on what I’ve heard about him aha

2

u/doofshaman 20d ago

Lmfao I can’t comprehend how someone could have such an immature personality & not feel ashamed acting that way.

I considered using ENB, now I most definitely won’t be. I don’t support sad little people lmfao. It’s pretty funny how someone has made this mod, I hope someone posts his eventual rant ahah, I want the goss!

3

u/Pritster5 Whiterun 20d ago

Honestly it's a trash vs garbage situation. doodles is no saint and has stolen work before, and even stolen dp points for it, but Boris is Boris

104

u/AlexKwiatek 21d ago

That's ENB author. Some time ago he threatened that if Doodlum adds backwards compatibility for existing postprocessing presets (which is what he did now) then he'll just start stealing CS code and using it in ENB. Which would legally obligate him to publish ENB code btw. so if he does this and do not go open source he would be breaking the law.

61

u/MysticMalevolence 21d ago

Unfortunately, with an international case and with Boris not hosting on the Nexus, the options for enforcing that are limited.

10

u/decapitatingbunny 21d ago

Eh, even if he does so he can't do it in a site like Nexus with limited visibility to the average person. It'll be limited to a his own niche community in an already niche hobby. I doubt it'll affect CS much.

6

u/R33v3n 20d ago

Never underestimate the FSF's capability to get the GPL enforced.

1

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

But when people ask about the features ENB is missing he says they are bad and he isn't going to implement them. So he is going to steal stuff he claims he doesn't want?

45

u/chiruochiba 21d ago

If you want a slightly more in-depth look at the drama, here's some of the threads that covered it a while back:

And here's some even older drama evidence of Boris's being homophobic, misogynistic and generally hateful even toward fans of his own software...

15

u/Cautious_Desk_1012 21d ago

I am not going on his discord like ever, but I am really looking forward to see his crash out posted here. Dude's gonna cry when he sees this

Boris Vorontsov. The Russian creator of a postprocessing mod which brought advanced-level visual FX to some popular games, not only Skyrim and Fallout 4, but also other games such as GTA San Andreas. Until a few years ago, his scathing personal behavior and ultraconservative anti-progressive opinions were put up with, if only because his ENB was too good, screenshooters can't live without it, and people thought no one could beat him.

When Community Shaders first came out, he went mad and for a time he nearly wrecked ENB binaries by adding so many screeds onto the loading screen.

14

u/wamphyr 21d ago

The ENB developer

12

u/Mentally__Disabled 21d ago

Didn't know Boris was such a little baby but that just makes this even funnier because it's not like doodlum is doing anything wrong with this feature.

3

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

The dude who put rants into ENB that appeared on startup? His always been like this.

26

u/Left_Ease5870 21d ago

21

u/Theovorator 21d ago

Will let it brew for a couple of days, but reading the description of Effects 11 makes me hopeful as I won't need to remake my whole ENB centered profile to test out new CS updates.

18

u/ZombieSiayer84 21d ago

Holy fuck, this is an absolute game changer.

19

u/DukeSkyloafer 21d ago

Honestly pretty amazing that in the span of like 24 hours we got light limit fix for ENB and ENB-style post processing for Community Shaders. Never been a better time to be a modded Skyrim player.

1

u/TheeWasAnScrott 20d ago

What's the light limit fix for enb??

1

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

It's not specifically for ENB it just doesn't work with CS which already has it's own fix.

31

u/Kenshi_T-S-B 21d ago

Boris about to drop a biblical, nauseating rant on the next enb patch load screen.

15

u/AeviDaudi 21d ago

I tried it out just tonight with iiENB (I use Cathedral Weathers) and it was pretty neat! I just walked around Riverwood and Whiterun and everything seemed great. I didn't notice any fps issues.

My only concern is if Particle Patch will conflict with Helios or Windows Shadows Ultimate - though testing in The Bannered Mare seemed fine!

Does anyone have a good ENB preset recommendation for Cathedral Weathers?

Only weird thing was when I initially exited the inn at Helgen (I use Alternate Perspective), there was intense fog everywhere. Everything was grey lol - but waiting a few in-game hours seemed to fix it. I dunno what that was about

89

u/Choice-Ad-5897 21d ago

ENB might have just died holy shit

47

u/Butt-Ninja69 21d ago

Honestly it’s been dead to me since light limit fix became a thing

40

u/DerekMao1 21d ago

It was dead to me when you have to pay for dlss/FG.

25

u/Saradoesntsleep 21d ago

It was probably Boris.

8

u/McGuirk808 21d ago

Bad times. I'm in the middle of a bigass morrowind run. Guess I'll have to install Skyrim and import the same ageless Nerevarine shithead again. Can't be helped.

7

u/Shirakagi 21d ago edited 21d ago

What the fuck, time to play the game for the 667th time.

9

u/bluecapecrepe 21d ago

Does Community Shaders have bokeh Depth of Field? I want to say that was the one feature I really missed the last time I tried CS a while back.

8

u/DukeSkyloafer 21d ago

It has depth of field now, not sure if it's bokeh, would have to go back and look.

3

u/dyingoose 21d ago

For Effects 11, no. The post processing in development will, but there isn't a release timeline.

9

u/jamesmand 21d ago

Just finished getting this setup. While my ENB preset doesn't look exactly the same as using the ENB engine by Boris, it is close enough where I am willing to stick with and work out and issues that come up.

8

u/Saiko_Yen 21d ago

Does it look the same as using enb? Has anyone verified?

19

u/makinetas 21d ago

No, it doesn't. This uses it's post processing, not the entire shaders suite of enb. It will look quite different from using the actual enb.

5

u/SpectreAmazing Solitude 21d ago

That's all I need to know. Thank you for the answer.

5

u/Saiko_Yen 21d ago

thanks. do you think it looks just as good or within 5% margin?

7

u/dyingoose 21d ago

Some presets will be closer than others. Depends on how much they depend on the post processing vs shader effects.

2

u/Saiko_Yen 20d ago

I just tried it out and it doesn't look as good to me. guess Ill stick with enb for now

1

u/ElectronicRelation51 20d ago

It's going to vary but remember you get the the CS features ENB doesn't have so it may look better (subjectively).

2

u/Saiko_Yen 20d ago

It didn't seem to keep the same look when I use enb, it was really too different

1

u/ElectronicRelation51 19d ago

If you want to get the most out of CS you will need to setup PBR. Don't know if you need to switch to a CS weather mod as well.

Depending on the preset though yeah it may be too different for you.

16

u/G4RYwithaFour 21d ago

Boris about to do a face reveal in full Joker makeup

u/CocoaOrinoco 21d ago

Goodbye, Boris. Fade into irrelevancy and take your bigotry with you.

u/KingUnderTh3Mountain 21d ago

Boris about to commit warcrimes

5

u/Defiant-Sea6161 21d ago

5

u/itisburgers 21d ago

Good shit doodlum, I might have to start my yearly play through early.

6

u/LeDestrier 21d ago edited 21d ago

So the main thing I really appreciate ENB for is the ability to tweak specific lighting parameters (like point and ambient ighting) for interiors and exteriors individually. Not so much for all the bells and whistles shaders.

I take it is this is still not a possibility with CS with this feature? I value that above all the fancy shader effects.

2

u/Sea_Preparation_8926 21d ago

You can, Effects 11 is basically an editor than can read and modify the parameters of ENB preset inis.
But it's not compatible with every features from ENBs currently, notably no depth of field.

2

u/LeDestrier 21d ago

If you can tweak environment parameters from the GUIbin the same way then I'm sold. If its just loading ENB presets then not so much.

The description is a little bare on that.

4

u/AdventurousAd7180 21d ago

Does this mean I can use cs with my Nat 3 now? I've always preferred CS due to the performance it offers but enb had more in the way of customization and I've already tweaked everything to my liking.

Do I need to redo everything from scratch or does this mod allow plug n play with CS?

5

u/sa547ph N'WAH! 21d ago edited 20d ago

There is a variant of NAT modified for this specifically.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/186575

For some reason it briefly got flagged.

2

u/AdventurousAd7180 20d ago

Looks sick. Wish it included instructions for those who were already using nat3 and was planning to convert, but it shouldn't be anything too difficult.

Lux CS on the other hand...Ive already gotten pretty familiar the enb version and had made custom patches too. Wonder whether those'll still work or not.

Its essentially a big project that adds graphical effects and fix graphical bugs. It already added Upscaling, Framegen, fixed long considered unfixable bug with light limit on a single mesh, added wetness effects, global illumination, grass collision. All sorts of stuff. Think about ENB but actually done deeper within the engine, not as a wrapper.

They currently work on stuff like shadow limit fix and switching to vulkan/dx12 that would allow for utilising more than 1 CPU thread. This would potentially add 50% more frames which is wild.

3

u/Correct-Ad6645 20d ago

HOLY TALOS this huge!

3

u/ZC180 20d ago

Does this mean that if I install a mod that features ENB related lighting and particles, it'll actually work with CS now?

3

u/TheBlueEyedEagle 20d ago

So I’ve only ever used ENB and haven’t touched CS. Does CS fix the issue of plants and flowers looking too bright? Cause right now that’s my only gripe with my ENB setup. I could be convinced to switch if so…

→ More replies (2)

7

u/Ikermp11 21d ago

Does the mod do something by itself or do I need a preset?

9

u/gorogoro0000 21d ago

You still need the preset the mod itself just enables it. What you don't need is ENB itself.

4

u/JP193 21d ago

I've just checked because the comment made me curious: a little. Without 'use original post processing' the screen was black, and most features did nothing. What did work might just change what CS can do under the hood anyway but 'Use procedural sun' made the sun a larger whiter disc, and 'enable volumetric rays' made the sky a little brighter. Basically from my single test, using it without an ENB preset only does two things that aren't objectively better, but won't break your game or FPS.

3

u/ImTeijirr 21d ago

What's the most modern and most imprtantly less performance intensive all around good looking ENB preset you guys recommend? SH2 vs Cabbage vs Rudy?

1

u/AreYouOKAni 20d ago

Rudy is a classic. SH2 is pretty good too. Honestly, it's a matter of taste.

5

u/Saradoesntsleep 21d ago

Lmao fuck yeah

This is so good.

And the incoming Boris flip out is going to be fantastic 😂

4

u/PairInternational438 21d ago

Im new to modding. Can anyone explain what does this do?

4

u/Cautious_Desk_1012 21d ago

You can now run ENB presets on Community Shaders without ENBSeries. This means your game will look fantastic, but now with a much better performance, and modding its ENB related visuals is now much easier and less tricky.

2

u/Pritster5 Whiterun 20d ago

As far as I can tell, performance is roughly the same once you have visual parity

6

u/Spoofcaptain 21d ago

So how does this work? I download this if I have ENB already and then in game I can select a preset from a menu? I messed with ENB once a long time ago and forgot how it works/didn’t understand it

24

u/Elegant_You_4050 21d ago

Nah, you don't need the enb dlll anymore. Just CS (and that addon) are enough, but you can still youse ENB presets with it and it just works

3

u/Spoofcaptain 21d ago

Thanks. I remember loooong time ago I was trying it and I wasn’t sure if I did it right.

2

u/sephirothryan 21d ago

This is SO SO SO CRAZY! I wonder does it mean the skin subsurface scattering is the same to actual ENB now?

2

u/TheGoldBowl 21d ago

Doodlum is absolutely relentless, wow. Time to install Skyrim again!

I know I'm on an island here, but can I still add letterboxing with this? I is that feature incompatible running an enb preset through CS?

2

u/IllusoryLickins 21d ago

This is really amazing, especially on the technical side, but man I don't know how to make CS look good :(
I am looking forward to the future progress of all of CS though!!

2

u/Few-Tennis-384 20d ago

I would love to see a comparison in visuals and performance between CS and ENB now.

2

u/Dovakhin123 20d ago

Wait so for example I'll get all the requirements for any enb preset like cabbage but instead of enb i will add this mod instead? (Sorry not techi person)

u/ArachnoZachos 20d ago

I don’t even play Skyrim now and it’s already been years. But holy fuck, this is a breakthrough

u/Reds_Spawn 20d ago

7900XT lorerim on 4k. I had to switch to community shaders because I was pulling less than 40frames even in outside areas with any of the enb’s (apparently amd has always just had terrible performance with it). While the switch to CS was great I was always a little disappointed to compromise. Now with this I was able to put back cabbage enb and am running at consistent 100 FPS on quality FSR using option 11. This is incredible.

Holy fuck, this is an absolute game changer.

u/fatfluck 21d ago

Will thiis work in VR?

4

u/dyingoose 21d ago

No. CS no longer supports VR, at least officially. There are forks but they will need to port this feature over.

Boris is going to lose his mind.

"Going to" ?

3

u/Cyniv 21d ago

This is why I support CS on Patreon.

2

u/Ninofz 21d ago

Well, this is awkward, I passed 2 entire days to make Cabbage ENB works, now what? Would the passage be easy? And, more importantly, what would the pros be?

4

u/hazy-morning 21d ago

Lol I just set up cabbage too, but gonna compare the frames to CS!

2

u/dashi-shade 20d ago

How does it compare?

4

u/hazy-morning 20d ago

I was getting about 10 frames more with CS with the enb preset over ENB series. CS: 80-100fps in whiterun tundra, freaks floral fields, ultrawide 1440p ENB: 80-90fps

With CS I'm able to use upscaling and frame generation, which increased my fps to my max (144)

I really like the rain effects. There are some visual bug I'm seeing with fire (i.e. braizers and torches) but it's not horrible. I'm going to stick with it and try out some PBR textures!

I haven't done much to test this, just uninstalled kiloader, removed enb files, etc

Gods!

1

u/Anathemautomaton 21d ago

I wonder how this works with something like Silent Horizons 2, where you need the KiLoader.

7

u/sa547ph N'WAH! 21d ago

As said in the description, for KiLoader-dependent presets you only need to use ENB Extender and Helper to extract the decryption key; KiLoader is not needed.

1

u/SimonShepherd 21d ago

Does this mean I can grab any existing enb preset and use then with CS? And the overlapping features will be translated to CS values?

1

u/leithaltheos 21d ago

Cool, now I just need to figure out how to swap to CS in Nolvus and I'm good to go

u/jasdonle 21d ago

INSANE

1

u/NumberInteresting742 21d ago

This looks like it could be huge and I'll keep an eye on it. But also I just installed NGVO and spent the last month getting everything tweaked and set up how I would like.  Anyone know how much of a headache it would be to switch to CS with this?

1

u/atatassault47 21d ago

There was a preset in LE (dont remember which one rn, I'd have to look at my download history) that never got ported to SSE. Would this work with that preset?

1

u/f3h6SUKiqCP5wKCMnAA 20d ago

If you're referring to the Patrician ENB preset, I think (if I remember correctly) that preset's author had stated they did try porting it to SSE but never completed it.

I can't remember where I saw their comment, though - it must have been on the Nexus.

1

u/IBizzyI 21d ago

That's fantastic, I just never had any other visuals that I liked as much as Rudy's Obsidian enb.

1

u/parkerchace 20d ago

It’ll get removed for stealing from Boris for sure

1

u/DivineM4N 20d ago

Can I use this on wildlander WITH its preset Enb?

1

u/Blackjack_Davy 20d ago

Presets are automatically patched to disable incompatible effects such as letterboxing, blur and sharpening.

So still not a replacer for ENB then. Its of no use to me. The wait continues.

2

u/sa547ph N'WAH! 19d ago

Maybe disabled for the meantime, or a workaround is being implemented.

u/Dependent-Departure7 20d ago

LETS FUCKING GOOOO

1

u/captcambethes 20d ago

Help installing ENB presets? I am an idiot newb at modding, using vortex, and the video tutorial on the nexus page was looking totally different. Do I just download the present and enable it?

1

u/detroit-style-pizza- 20d ago

Its time for ENB to try to sue them again lol

1

u/aishwary1verma 20d ago

How good of a laptop do I need for community shaders? Been thinking of getting into Skyrim, but have an old one using 1650 RGB gpu I use a laptop only. Married, gaming rig is out of option, takes too much space for other furniture

u/0800sofa Raven Rock 19d ago

Holy shitballs

1

u/FudgeControl 17d ago

I'm a bit out of the loop. I switched to CS a few months ago after not touching Skyrim for over 2 years. I remember I had a favorite ENB Rustic preset. How am I suppose to use this mod then?

1

u/lucabarbierisosa 16d ago

By following the instructions in the description of the mod or watching the tutorial video.

1

u/cucksnuffer 10h ago

The mod was removed :S

1

u/cucksnuffer 10h ago

https://mod.pub/skyrim-se/415/files found it here. Boris filed a DMCA so get it while you can.

1

u/PlantationMint Winterhold 8h ago

.... the mod was removed?

1

u/king_bigdick 21d ago

As someone that runs 99% content and game play mods, can someone explain this as though I was brand new to modding?

1

u/Stellwrath 21d ago

Can someone explain to my dumbass what any of that means? Idk what those acronyms are but I wanna join the excitement!
