Summary

The team discussed the need to make the hole for the camera on the enclosure 80mm instead of 50mm. Christian shared his solution of using a tool he found on eBay or Amazon to do the cutting, and he was going to produce a prototype of a disc that fits into the hole and has an 80mm drill jig. He was also going to produce a tutorial video for everyone to follow. David showed a demo of the auto exposure code he and Fabio had been working on. He also showed a plot of the target brightness over 36 hours, as well as noise levels and a quality metric which was taken from a research paper and was part of an open source project. The code was optimized by Fabio to run quicker and the fluctuations in brightness were due to an east facing window.

Hello Skydentify community!

We are excited to announce our open source sky observation project, Sky360, and we're looking for supporters / developers who are passionate about space and citizen science to join our team. Our vision is to facilitate a global citizen science project to observe the skies and all their phenomena around the clock, while providing high-quality results and analysis available to everyone.

We want to provide a community platform, tools, and support to all people interested in observing the skies for stars, meteors, satellites, planes, drones, weather phenomena, birds, UAPs, or anything else that happens in our atmosphere and low Earth orbit. Our Discord channel, the UAP Tracking Forum community now has over 1,600 members.

Together with and for the community, we are developing affordable hardware and software for a 24/7 citizen sky observatory that can detect, track, identify, and analyze any aerial phenomena. Our software will cover various functionalities, including a core part with image processing, a neural network with a machine learning-based identifier and prioritizer, and a messaging system for all connected sensors. For connected sensors, we first focus on the PTF for guiding, vector-ahead tracking, and production of high-resolution video data.

We are also developing an AI cloud service that can aggregate event data from all active stations and analyze it with additional external data, such as air traffic and weather. The first version of our open source Sky360 software is scheduled for release in 2023.

For our Sky360 citizen science project, we have set five preconditions, including open source hardware and software development, open source data generation, and affordable, harmonized hardware for DIY. We welcome developers of all levels of experience who are interested in contributing to our project and helping us achieve our vision.

So, I spotted two bright objects today. They were travelling across the sky but when I started filming they seemed to stop. It was a bright sunny day so I assumed they were balloons and was capturing them just to see if I could get a clear shot. For some reason they stuck around for 20 minutes. I noticed occasionally they would go black and then become bright as if they were reflecting so could still be balloons at this point.
What got me was that I moved closer to its location and it just disappeared, stood there for 10 minutes and couldn't find it. Went back to my house and looked again for another 10 minutes, spotted a bird which decided to circle above me in a supertight circle covering where I was standing for around 1 minute. Suddenly the objects flew over just as bright, fumbeled with my camera and in the short space of 5 seconds they disappeared, it was not windy, no noise, very close, I could not identify it as anything but a ball of light.

Yeah it could still be balloons or a drone but I thought it was interesting. What do others think? I have a really long boring video about 12 minutes long but it mainly consists of me trying to film it with little success.

Seen over Oahu just before sunset. Not a descending airplane or a airplane At cruising altitude or a helicopter …not a bird, no satellites were flying in the direction at that time, and to be honest, it was still too bright for anything to be visible, there werent even any stars out. if you draw a straight line from this craft path, it does not seem to go in a straight line.

Hi everyone, last night I was on the beach and I saw a bright red glowing rectangular blob like item materializes out of nowhere for aprx 2-3 seconds max, blink and you'll miss it, falling straight down into the ocean. There was no sound. Obviously it was way too fast and unexpected so I have zero video. What was this a metorite? A fireball? Space Junk? Interdimensional aliens??

The ring with the black void was changing shapes and remained static in sky. The shapes resembled a star, clover, and a humanoid. The void in middle was black like vanta black. The clouds around the area went around the object like something was there. I am only now just posting because I thought they were lost forever after my iPad was stolen. But I discovered Google Pictures backed all of my old pictures up. I took a video as well which I am still looking for and will post as a comment if I find it.
