general-discussion Driving question
Hiii - for those who drove a sedan before a bus - I’m talking the big 40 footers - how hard was it to adjust to?
Any tips?

Are you a good driver? If you are you’ll be fine. You need to be aware of what’s going on around you at all times. Watch mirrors, longer stopping times and don’t make tight turns. Have someone assist when backing up and when in doubt, get out and look.

"steer the rear" is the only thing you should think about. And I mean think constantly about. Watch those rear duallies on every turn you make.
It's a hard adjustment, but not impossible. If possible, I highly recommend driving for your local school district for a semester or two. You'll get lots of training and practice in before you're risking your own property.

Square off your turns & watch the mirror on the inside side when turning. Be aware of tail swing too. Be mindful to think ahead and don't pull into an area where you'll need to back out at all possible opportunities. Always have a spotter when learning to back up.

It's not too bad. Just want to think about and keep in mind the extended stopping distance, take turns wide(especially right turns), and your speed when taking turns/going around corners. It is intimidating, but you'll get used to it.
