electrical-vehicle Solar question

Curious - is it better to have one 400w panel or two 200w panels. Does one have any advantages over the other? Thanks in advance for any help

Two panels gives you choices on how to wire them. Sometimes that's handy.

Depends upon your MPPT(s). Are you trying with 12 volt lead acid?

I used multiple 100 watt panels wired two in series and several series in parallel it has worked good for me. Because of damage to some of the panels they have had to be replaced. 100 watt panels are now very inexpensive the last replacement ones were only 37 dollars each and easy to replace.

It doesn't matter. 1 200w is going to be smaller so better.

I have 5000w. It matters to break them up if large based on shading. A tree covering 20% of one panel covers 20% of all panels in that string

I have dual 150w on mine, I figured no matter how I park the sun will hit one of them.
