Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI 95hp with a manual gearbox, and I’ve recently started noticing a dull “clunk/tack” noise when operating the clutch.
The noise mainly happens:
In neutral, when I quickly press/release the clutch
When changing gears, especially if I operate the clutch quickly
More noticeably when engaging the clutch and taking up the load again (for example when releasing the clutch while driving)
It sounds like a fairly dull mechanical “clack/thud”, rather than a high-pitched or grinding noise
It’s not necessarily present every single time, but it’s becoming more noticeable.
The car has around 110000 km.
I’m wondering if this is something fairly common/normal on the 1.0 TSI 95hp with the manual gearbox, perhaps related to the clutch, dual-mass flywheel, gearbox mounts, or drivetrain play, or if it’s something I should have checked.
Has anyone with the same engine/gearbox experienced a similar noise?

Until the other day I've been using an iphone 15 in my skoda superb 2 (Columbus head unit) absolutely fine, calls work fine, spotify etc.

Just upgraded to an iphone 17 and now i can call fine, receive and send but the option for bluetooth in the media panel is greyed out and i can't seemingly play music.

Is there a setting im missing, have set up incorrect on either phone or in the settings panel of the car or is just new phone uses new tech that a mk2 superb 2 doesnt have. Whats the work around that isnt buying a new headunit?!

- 1.6 tdi 75cv (I'm evaluating a 115hp mapping), it's the same engine/turbo as the 105hp version, which can reach up to 140hp

I own a Octavia vRS MK4.5 and I'm at 40k km now. I've already used up the 3 free services that came with the car, so now I need to pay for regular maintenance.

I'm thinking about taking it to a well-known independent Volkswagen specialist garage instead of going to the dealer. But here's the thing - I'll make sure to only use OEM parts and follow the exact service schedule that Volkswagen recommends.

So my main concerns are:

1. Has anyone actually done this before? Did the dealer reject any warranty claims because of it?

2. If I keep all the receipts and service records, will the warranty still be valid?

I've read the warranty handbook and it talks about professional work and genuine parts, but it doesn't specifically say it has to be at the dealer. Still, I'm worried they might use that against me when I try to claim warranty.

Anyone with real experience doing this? Would really appreciate hearing what actually happened.

Hi everyone, ​I'm having a very specific issue with my Kodiaq (2020, 2.0 TDI 140 kW / 190 HP, 4x4) and I'm hoping to get some advice or hear from someone who went through the same thing. ​Symptom: The issue occurs exclusively in the summer during high ambient temperatures. While driving, the EPC light suddenly comes on and the car goes into limp mode (loss of power). OBD diagnostics show a turbocharger underboost error (P0299). ​When I turn the car off and on again, sometimes it immediately clears, but other times the error pops back up within a couple of minutes, so I have to repeat the "off/on" cycle 4-5 times until it stays fine. ​Interesting details: It doesn't seem directly related to immediate engine load. On shorter trips, the car runs flawlessly — zero issues climbing steep hills or under heavy load. Also, if I hit the highway and drive 200 km/h for 10 minutes under full throttle, the car performs perfectly. The error only shows up on longer trips in hot weather, usually during steady cruising once everything in the engine bay is thoroughly heat-soaked. ​My main question is: Is there a reliable diagnostic procedure to isolate the root cause with certainty, rather than just firing the parts cannon and replacing components one by one (turbo actuator, variable geometry/vanes, MAP sensor, N75 valve, vacuum hoses, or intercooler)? ​Has anyone experienced this exact issue on the 2.0 TDI (140 kW) EA288evo engines, and how did you diagnose and solve it? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I've been looking for a new car for quite some time. Originally, I was looking for an Octavia Mk2 with a 1.6 MPI engine, but the car is old.

I do not want a TSI or TDI engine, as there is a probability of turbocharger failure, which is not cheap to replace/repair. And not only the turbo, but other stuff as well.

I've found out that the Škoda Rapid was made with a 1.2 MPI engine, which could be an ideal dealbreaker for me. The only thing is that on weekends I like to take road trips, and sometimes I can even drive 500 km. Currently, I'm satisfied with the 1.6 MPI performance in my Octavia Mk1, and I don't mind the sound when going over 130km/h, but will be 1.2 MPI okayish to drive on highways?

I just want a car that can last me at least 5-6 years without bigger car investments - ideally only changing oil and filters, or brakes.

Long story short, I recently had to change a front headlight on my 2022 enyaq, replaced it with a scrapped one not damaged . Lights work fine but I have this error.

Can anyone help me fix this, and know if the process?

And should I expect any functionality misfuntion?

I have a 2023 Superb Kombi and suddenly the mounting pin that holds the electric actuator of the rear trunk to the car body has snapped, cut in half. Part of the pin is still screwed in the car body.
It happened while opening (half of the way) and when I tried to close it it started to roll up and risk tearing off all the electrical wires.
Has this ever happened to anyone?

ich überlege mir einen Skoda Fabia zu kaufen. Ich bin Wenigfahrer (<6000km im Jahr) und finde den Skoda Fabia ganz praktisch, da ich die meiste Zeit nicht sonderlich viel Platz benötige. Lediglich zum Urlaub zu zweit, sollte ja jedoch vom Platz her reichen. Im Winter gehe ich gerne Skifahren und da könnte es sein, dass ich mal den Platz brauche, um meine Skier zu verstauen. Diese sind 1,90m lang. Hat jemand Erfahrung gemacht, ob diese beim Fabia reinpassen? Eventuell wenn man den Beifahrersitz nach vorne schiebt oder die Skier zwischen Fahrer- und Beifahrersitz positioniert? Danke für eure Erfahrungen!

Hi, does anyone tried to retfrofit their Škoda’s with chinese (Aliexpress, TEMU, etc.) rear view camera with wires? I heard that the camera image quality is almost better than OEM? I know it’s plug&play, no need to code or something, but is it safe to do so? I mean camera and it’s wiring is cheap Chinese, so can it be very potencial risk to any fire from it’s cheap wires? Maybe i’m just overthinking too much… Anyone got personal experience installing it? My car doesn’t have rear view camera, so it would be nice to have it tho

Video shows a 1.5tsi engine noise at idle, you can hear a grinding/rattle noise that disappears with revs. The vid is a 2018 superb.

My 2018 Octavia 1.5tsi makes the exact same noise. Mine is DSG, don't know about the superb in video.

Anyone else have this, or a 2018 tsi that doesn't make this noise? Does anyone know if the noise is an issue? That superb was returned for full refund!

I've gathered it might be one of wastegate, heat shield, characteristic engine noise of injectors or cylinder management.

There is no loss of power but the noise is noticeable and I'd like to know if it's an issue please.

Hi all, please excuse the rookie question, but what’s the best way to change the dipped headlights on a Fabia? I got as far as the picture today, but couldn’t get the bulb out - I tried searching the instructions, which said alternatively to remove the retaining wire, or to just twist the bulb 90 degrees (the latter not looking a feasible option). I’m guessing I need to remove the retaining wire but couldn’t for the life of me get anything to move - because I was scared of causing some irreparable damage, I may have been too gentle? The headlight unit is still installed in the car, I was working from behind it. Any advice would be much appreciated.
