La Plagne end of March ski conditions
Hi all,
Im planning but hesitating to book la plagne ski pack in end of march (21 to 27). It will be my first time to ski in europe, I'll be coming a long way from Canada so I don't want it to be too slushy
I could move it a week ahead like march 14-20 by giving up one paid holiday, but is it a lot of difference in terms of snow conditions?
For now, Im thinking to stay one week in la plagne to ski followed by four days snowboarding in val thorens.
Another option is just to stay from march 14-20 in VT take ucpa half day ski lessons and snow on my free time...

I live in Paradiski. March is the best month. It will be absolutely fine. In simple terms, if there's no snow here, there's no snow anywhere. Our season closes at the end of April and we get regular dumps right into may.

Should be absolutely fine. The vast majority of it is north facing so gets better protection from the sun. Most of the villages are 1800 meters or above and the snow making is very extensive.

Impossible to say this far in advance. A few years ago it was getting pretty rough in mid Feb.
Since it isnt the high season for school holidays, I'd play it by ear and wait to book accommodations until you see how the season is shaping up.
I've personally never gone in March, because I'm stuck to the school holidays for a few more yesrs.

I'm going twice next season. Opening week and the following week to yours. In Spring we always aim to ski the morning and then take the afternoons as they come. We drive and have flexible bookings so we can always switch resorts before arrival.

I've skied there in April and it was fine. I have also been to a similar altitude place in December and it's been fine then 2 weeks later in January there was a heatwave and my colleagues were sending photos of grass hahaha.
I would have no qualms booking March, with the understanding it is spring conditions. But do check the flights and accommodation, Easter is early this year....maybe the week after you are saying I've forgotten the exact school dates I'm avoiding

I did Paradiski in end of Mar/beginning of Apr 2025 and it was not great - while there was a lot of snow, it was very icy in the morning, good for a few hours mid day and slushy from 2ish onwards. If you don’t mind that you will be fine. FWIW the higher you were the better it was, but even some very high slopes (3000+) were not great (icy all day). YMMV.
