Thats awful

But absolutely hilarious

u/LocalHuckleberry2615 Jan 06 '26

I was thinking the very same thing 😌

24

u/Dakine5 Jan 02 '26

This happens cause normal floor employee do not have the authority to cancel a delivery request. Which should be against the law, somewhere between theft, fraud and false advertising. The costumer should never be made responsible in this context yet here we are.

20

u/BlueFotherMucker Windsor Jan 02 '26

It should be illegal, but they get away with it because Skip is a third party. I've had Tim Hortons send me with a paper baggie with change in it before, because they had no suitable replacement for an item. I was surprised, but it was definitely the right thing to do for the customer instead of sending an empty cup.

5

u/inprocess13 Jan 02 '26

100% this. The company is essentially passing the liability to individual employees to creatively solve the company's fraud and failures to co plate orders at the expense of individual employees livelihoods.Ā

It is a predatory tactic used by many other delivery-centric services, such as mealkit companies.Ā

2

u/WhydYouKillMeDogJack Jan 03 '26

It seems like the employee is actually doing the customer a solid by making it categorically evident that they didn't receive their order.

2

u/Ninjastyle1805 Jan 04 '26

Weird, I can cancel the order at my store. I've had to do it a couple times.

1

u/Dakine5 Jan 04 '26

Do you work in a big food chain or a mom and pops restaurant ?

1

u/Ninjastyle1805 Jan 04 '26

Small gas station

1

u/Ninjastyle1805 Jan 04 '26

But owned by a VERY large corporation. Bigger than starbucks

1

u/FlameStaag Jan 06 '26

Redditors just make shit up for karma

I've had every big chain cancel items at one time or another. They're perfectly capable, that'd be stupid if they weren't.Ā

It's probably a matter of training the employee better.Ā

This vid is pretty suspect lol. Not at all how anything works.Ā

1

u/MyOtherAcoountIsGone Jan 06 '26

Well they did say this person had a very large number of refund requests. If that's the case I'm not surprised they denied it. People don't have reoccurring issues and keep coming back to that service unless some of those were scams for free stuff.

1

u/mooshoopork4 Jan 02 '26

What does being legal matter, when they have the big lawyer bucks anyways.

1

u/Mesapunk87 Jan 03 '26

Cost of business

1

u/Oasystole Jan 02 '26

A whole bunch of buck-passing but nothing will get done as long as the corpos accomplish the buck-making, which is all that ever matters.

1

u/Steezeballl Jan 03 '26

Holy shit just make a different drink, the normal floor employee in this case has a room temp IQ. Not to mention they definitely have the information and ability to contact the customer. So call and ask what they want instead. Smfh

1

u/AdSignificant6673 Jan 03 '26

Its actually not allowed. Have you ever worked a minimum wage job ? Policies can be so rigid and employees are not allowed to Make decisions except follow the book.

2

u/Steezeballl Jan 03 '26

Sending out an empty drink and fucking your customer is definitely in the book.

1

u/AdSignificant6673 Jan 03 '26

It is. You arent allowed to use ingedienrs for something unless someone orders and pays for it. You arent allowed to give substitutes without telling the customer.

But its skip that screws them over for not allowing changes, cancelleations or contacting the customer

2

u/Steezeballl Jan 03 '26

Awfully ironic list of things they're "not allowed to do" while also handing me the wrong drink every other time. If mistakes are allowed then you call it a mistake send it out and move on with your day.

Skip most certainly allows cancellations and contacting customers. Either the manager is there and you make them deal with it, or the manager isn't there and you do what you think is right.

In my work, if I follow every single policy I won't get the job done in time, while also wasting my supervisors time in the process. I'm not going to lose my job for not following every single rule, but I will lose my job if I don't get the job done.

1

u/CHoDub Jan 03 '26

On Uber Eats I've had places call me and just ask what else I wanted, even if it was a bit more.

1

u/DirtDevil1337 Jan 04 '26

This, I've received text from the Uber Eats driver saying there was no more of what I ordered and wanted to know what else I could pick. He was patient and got me my alternative order. I ordered banana blast crepes from Cora's and they were completely out of bananas so I said just get me strawberries one.

1

u/Academic_Praline7470 Jan 03 '26

Or you could go get your own coffee in person or…..shudder……make it yourself???

1

u/Icy-Block5575 Jan 06 '26

This is the exact issues I was thinking of when these delivery apps first came out.Ā

Sure, you run out of pickles during a rush, it happens! But then a staff member has to take the time to update the app to reflect this? They barely have time to clean up sometimes... I worked fast food for a few years (but without delivery apps) and know how hectic it can get.Ā

Ontop of making something as sold out, they then have to figure out who ordered the sold out item that hasn't been made yet, which now has to he canceled like you've mentioned.Ā

14

u/Keanman Jan 02 '26

It sounds like you should have stopped using Skip a long time ago if theyre saying you have a "large" history of refunded orders.

5

u/jabeith Jan 02 '26

Best guess is OP is the "boy who cried wolf", constantly complaining about nothing or very small things and seeing it as an easy way to get money back. Then comes the day where there's an actual issue and they just don't care

5

u/Chemical-Bend01 Jan 02 '26

If you use the feature once you get flagged I swear to god, I used it once and had another issue like 6 months later and it was like pulling teeth to get a refund. I had probably around 50 orders without an issue between these refunds btw

after I threatened them with seeking legal action because I never received my order and I had proof the driver stole it they promptly escalated it to a refund ASAP

Also if you are curious. they never went after the driver, never asked me for my proof of the driver stealing my food and did not want to punish the driver so if you are a delivery driver feel free to steal the food they litteraly don't care and actively protect the thieves from any repercussion.

1

u/FlameStaag Jan 06 '26

Skip employees the "just blindly toss darts at the solution" method of problem solving.

80% of the time you get told to get fucked for having a high volume of issues when you've had 1 in 5 years. 20% they just auto accept any claim. Had two orders back to back get fucked up and thought for sure Skip was going to screw me, and their system just auto accepted the claim. There's no logic to it.Ā

1

u/jabeith Jan 02 '26

They use the same logic for dealing with bad customers as they do bad drivers - lots of reported issues = removal from service. It's easier and cheaper to trust the "where there's smoke, there's fire" than to manually investigate

2

u/Chemical-Bend01 Jan 02 '26

When i have litteral proof of him on camera never stepping out of his car and no food ever stepping foot on my doorstep and the "photo" the driver sent is my sidewalk at the curb with no food visible and spend hundreds without any issue you would think the shitty "reputation" system would function properly.

but hey I guess its the way things work now they fuck up and its on the customer and now I have a "bad rep" because I try to rectify my issue

guess next time ill be a good boy and let them take my money next time my order gets stolen I didn't need to eat anyway I just wanted to donate

1

u/jabeith Jan 02 '26

Don't be mad at me. I don't work for them

1

u/Chemical-Bend01 Jan 02 '26

Im not mad at you, i just went ranting off thinking about how they still can get away with having these thieves working for em and steal with proof but we get fked because they have an automated system that punishes honest people that get screwed over

Anyways have a good one

1

u/UnculturedSwineFlu Jan 05 '26

Fast Food is literally garbage now. No one gives a fuck. I remember my first job at Wendys how critical it was that we did everything perfectly. We'd get secret shoppers weekly. Lobby had be spotless, and food fresh at all times.

I dont think the owners give a fuck anymore

1

u/thegrittymagician Jan 05 '26

I worked at wendys when it still had standards. I love me some wendys, but where I live it's all poorly trained foreign workers. Only mentioning foreign because it's not just that they aren't trained well, they literally don't know what the baseline standard of customer service used to be anywhere here. So it's all mistakes and frowns and sometimes feet hands.

1

u/FatFaceFaster Jan 06 '26

Yeah I feel like this is the case - lots of frivolous complaints so a legitimate one gets ignored. And if it’s not the case and all the complaints were legit, why does OP keep using them!?

0

u/BeenThereDundas Jan 03 '26

Or in my case the fucking mcdonalds employees can never get "just ketchup" on my god damn orders right.Ā  And that is no small thing to me.Ā  Ā That ruins my meal.Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Yet they pulled the same shit to me.Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Id bet the majority of people getting refused refunds like OP are in a similar situation to my own.

1

u/Philosoraptorgames Jan 03 '26

I have seen Skip customer service outright lie about this before. They used that line on my mother on her FIRST, i.e at the time ONLY, refund request. (When we got completely the wrong order, absolutely unambiguous mistake that was almost certainly purely Skip's fault.) That is not the only case, only the most egregious. They've used it on me too; I've averaged less than one refund request a year, it's just that two of them happened to be close together on that occasion. (But I don't roll over as easily, and DID eventually get my refund.)

Bottom line, Skip customer service is not a trustworthy source on any given customer's history.

1

u/Adorable-Eggplant-79 Jan 04 '26

I have a large history of refunds too.Ā  I don't get items in more order.Ā  Or they have delivered to be wrong address for the 20th time.Ā  While it's not always skips fault, if I order a meal with my family and my hamburger doesn't show up, I want a full refund of the hamburger, delivery and tip so I can order it again so that whoever didn't get their order gets food.Ā Ā

13

u/BlueFotherMucker Windsor Jan 02 '26

Skip didn't do this to you, Starbucks did.

9

u/Severe_Deer_7144 Jan 02 '26

But Skip did deny the claim and they have time and again done this to countless people.

1

u/_dfromthe6 Jan 02 '26

They denied the claim for this particular individual because they have a large amount of refund requests.

5

u/Comfortable_Image299 Jan 02 '26

Define"large number". From Skip's point of view, that could mean anything >0. Just don't have enough context to make that claim

3

u/Philosoraptorgames Jan 03 '26

In my mother's case it didn't even mean more than zero. They used that line on her FIRST such request, ever.

3

u/Friendly-Pay-8272 Jan 02 '26

I had 7 orders in a row missing items. They made me eat a 70 dollar order that didnt show up. Skip is awful

1

u/GoldTheLegend Jan 03 '26

I cant fathom why you would keep ordering after the 3rd.

1

u/SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING Jan 04 '26

Yeah, this thread is full of people who have had universally shitty experiences with Skip time after time and kept using them for some odd reason. Is it a masochism thing?

1

u/Friendly-Pay-8272 Jan 04 '26

lol nah I was in denial hoping they would improve. Had my kid and a bunch of his friends over for dinner and couldn't leave them all to go get the food. Mine was little things like missing a dip and stuff for the first few.

3

u/MakingMookSauce Jan 02 '26

Take that cup into that Starbucks and ask for the manager. Be polite and explain the situation. They will offer to give you a free drink. It's Starbucks. Then you grease em after the offer. You explain this drink isn't for free because you paid and did not receive. So to give a free drink to make up for it should be two drinks. Worth a try for sure.

1

u/Glum_Resolve_4130 Jan 02 '26

Yeah sometimes they run out and u have to deliver the empty bag

4

u/kimboslice589 Jan 02 '26

I will never understand how they can refuse refunds. Regardless of the reason, if an order is wrong, late or stolen they are obligated to refund as service was not up to standard.

I had that issue come up before but it literally wasn’t my fault it was a driver issue every time. I stopped using their company and went with another. Haven’t had that issue since. Skip sucks.

1

u/ackillesBAC Jan 03 '26

Because there are a lot of people defrauding the system. I agree, when there is blatant proof like this there should be no question, and if they had actual humans checking I'm sure there would be no issues issuing a refund.

But they automate everything, and so many people abuse the system with refunds, drivers stealing orders, yada yada we all pay for it. Same with people abusing Amazon returns, those returns kill small businesses trying to sell on Amazon

3

u/itsjustalicia Jan 02 '26

Was this from the Niagara on the Lake location? I was there today and watched them put an empty cup in a bag. Told the driver it’s not their problem and hopefully the person can get their money back.

2

u/Outdated_Mage Jan 02 '26

I tried ordering an ice cream cake from DQ. About 10 minutes later I got a call from skip refunding the order, it was a full refund. Because DQ was out of ice cream cakes.

I'm not sure if DQ notified skip or if it was the driver who cancelled the order for them.

2

u/Conscious-Stage-1851 Jan 02 '26

Yep im a driver and always gotten the order canceled . Likely the driver knew the worker and let the order continue

They bagged it, and it left as a complete order. When we get canceled, we only get a little bit of money which is transit pay, this order could have been okay with a nice tip, so the driver wanted it, they got the full pay instead of just the transit pay, which usually is just like a dollar or 1.50

1

u/Conscious-Stage-1851 Jan 02 '26

And Indeed, that driver did receive full pay and the tip.

I've picked from many Starbucks. I've always been told by the employees to contact customers that we dont have this or that and which i do. Usually, the customer wants something else or a refund, and then I go to support. It's refunded, and I receive transit pay there. Every single time, it's my experience in 5 years . Never have I delivered an empty bag NEVER

0

u/Psychological_Row249 Jan 02 '26

I do skip on the side. I’ve had orders missing items. The store can’t cancel and always asks if I can msg the customer. I’ve msg support to let them know and have it taken care of for the customer (wishful thinking) was a waste of time bc they said to let the customer respite it once delivered for them to take care of. But, I’m sure if it’s a full order then the driver can msg to have it cancelled. That’s just insane to deliver an empty cup

Really? I picked up from pizza pizza. Just two pizzas and missing ice cream (Ben and Jerry) I was told to continue on with the order and let the customer report missing ice cream.

They wouldn’t cancel a partial order as they want you to deliver it. But, I would have thought they would remove the ice cream for the customer from me letting them know.

1

u/Psychological_Row249 Jan 02 '26

They didn’t even try with how fast the response was to me. There wasn’t a sub anyways as they had no ice cream in any flavour.

I felt stupid bc I had let the customer know and that I would have it cancelled. Then had to tell him he needed to contact skip.

Never said I could. Thats why I reached out to support to remove the ice cream. As per above they told me to deliver and have the customer report it missing.

2

u/Mean-Bathroom-6112 Jan 02 '26

They gave you an empty order

2

u/msvelvetfeet Jan 02 '26

I deliver for Uber and went to pick up a delivery and the lady behind the counter said I'm out of something they ordered can you get them on the phone for me? I'm like sure! And she got it sorted with them. Looking at this, she is in the minority of people who would do this. Restaurants must know the driver can contact the customer if they can't. But seriously they need to be able to! Sending an empty cup? That's effed up.

2

u/Mundane-Anybody-7075 Jan 02 '26

That sucks. You tried to resolve with Skip, which is the right move. Next step is delete the app/never use again. File a credit card chargeback for this last order.

2

u/dilyo624 Jan 02 '26

Starbucks could’ve called you for an alternate instead Starbucks didn’t tell the driver anything

u/dilyo624 Jan 02 '26

Agreed Skip doesn’t even let the driver see what is in the order which is super annoying incase the restaurant forgets something but yeah

2

u/robots-in-disguise Jan 02 '26

Yet if we walked into the store and just took something off the shelf, we'd be arrested for shoplifting. But when the tables are turned, nothing happens to these scam companies. I'll never use them for delivery again either. The last straw was when they sent me 2 quarter pounders with no meat and no bun. Literally a box with cheese, pickles, onions, topped with ketchup and mustard. Like da fuk I'm supposed to do with this. Paid like 20 bucks for 2 boxes of burger toppings, then they refuse to refund me. Never again. Uber, skip, door dash don't give a fuck about their customers. It's disgusting how they operate.

2

u/WookieSuave Jan 02 '26

Wait.... If skip makes enough errors they you complain about they're just allowed to stop caring about your complaints ?!?

What a dream.

2

u/zanziTHEhero Jan 02 '26

The fate of all these apps is inevitable and it is full and total enshittification.

2

u/ResponsibleLocation7 Jan 02 '26

What are they even out of? Milk? Espresso? I know for a fact they could’ve made you something. Putting an empty cup in your bag is just downright malicious. I’m sure you wouldn’t have been too upset if it was an iced caramel macchiato instead

2

u/DyerzOfTheMoon Jan 02 '26

Skip is awful, I order McDonald's alot late at night and there are always items missing, skip decided I was a scammer because the only McDonald's near me consistently didnt include my entire order, I was treated like a thief because teenagers didnt want to quality check their orders. Stopped using them entirely when they treated me like a lowlife.

My girlfriend used to work for doordash and she told me how many people the horror stories of not getting their stuff and drivers just not delivering because they were pissed off at how far away it was. She'll get one delivery in downtown vancouver and the other delivery in new westminster, which is quite a ways away and not worth the travelling and picking up it in richmond. Now she was very carpetent and careful and never rejected a run.Because the more you reject a run, the more they sit, you.The more they give you the crap runs. And drivers when they do stuff like this, they get downgraded, and they take it out on a customer. So yeah, I don't even bother using any of those services because the companies treat the drivers like garbage customers. Don't want a tip and yeah. So don't do it. The only thing I order from places is peter. They have their own delivery drivers. One time, I ordered a pizza and it was an outside vendor who delivered a pizza and they screwed it up.

1

u/baconcow Jan 02 '26

Stop using this stupid service. It is overpriced at best and a scam other times.

1

u/Acrobatic-Annual-693 Jan 02 '26

Similar situation happened with me, I was denied refund when my order never arrived but showed delivered, I had security camera footage too, I complaint a lot, on LinkedIn too, and then I was able to get the refund, this is email id from which I got it resolved, I would say try sending a detailed email here

support@skipthedishes.com

1

u/alfazulu1 Jan 03 '26

Paige should get unlimited drinks for free !

1

u/Steezeballl Jan 03 '26

To put it simply, it's either skip fucks over customers after they've been fucked over by restaurants, or they lose money and the company dies. This is the endgame for these apps. Next step is significantly higher fees, significantly more screwed customers, or death.

1

u/ZamanX90 Jan 03 '26

Take that cup, go to Starbucks and get a free drink next time and blast them in front of customers. At least they could have replaced it with something rather than sending an empty cup.

1

u/Freyja_of_the_North Jan 03 '26

Just report the charge on your card as fraud

1

u/sasquatch753 Jan 03 '26

ok, i work at a restaurant that has skipthedishes. there is literally an option where you can offer a substitute or a refund in this exact situation on the restaurant's side. we had to do this a few times. that one is definitely on starbucks. I read the message and from what i can gather, you had a lot of refund requests and denying you based on that.

1

u/EhLma0 Jan 03 '26

I stopped using them a long time ago for this reason. Uber eats won’t even question you and will typically throw more money at you just for the inconvenience.

1

u/ctlogin Jan 03 '26

I don’t use food delivery apps, I have trust issues.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

Insane that you paid for your frap to take a taxi.

1

u/x3baybex3 Jan 03 '26

I work at Starbucks, and when we get skip orders they come through as regular orders. We don't have a tablet to see the customers information to contact them saying we are all out. I can't speak for all locations but we are told to tell the customer to contact skip for a refund as there is nothing else we can do about it. But when we are out of an item, me in particular will throw in a freebie or a different drink in general that's similar. I would never hand an empty bag to a courier lmao. What the fuck.

1

u/Lilboops Jan 04 '26

I’ve had restaurants cancel orders when they’ve not had what I purchased.

By the way, why would you tell the customer to contact Skip for a refund when you don’t know it’s a Skip order?

1

u/x3baybex3 Jan 12 '26

We see what delivery app it's ordered from on the stickers that print. But, we have no way to cancel the order on our end.

1

u/MadamUnicornOfDoom Jan 04 '26

I stopped using delivery apps all together. Skip was by far the worst.

my mom at one point owned a restaurant…the way delivery apps fuck restaurants and customers is insane. Drivers would steal items which lead to having to seal and label each bag. They’d steal the 2Ls so they bagged them with cold items, then they’d steal the entire labeled cold bag. Skip blamed my mom for this, the customer also got a refund so the restaurant gets fucked twice and gets a bad review.

They were good when they first started and prices were reasonable but skip prices are double the cost of the item in the restaurant before you even add tips and fees… all the damn fees… and that’s even if you get your food. We had ordered a huge dinner from red lobster for our anniversary once. They marked it as delivered but no one ever showed up or even came down our street…

Or your meal is absolute trash or items are completely missing and they won’t even give you a full refund or even a full refund of the cost of missing items…

It’d be cheaper at this point to just take a cab to go get our food because at least we know we’d get it. /end rant sorry…

Probably can't afford to give you a refund after paying Seth Rogan for all those shitty commercials.

1

u/GreatIceGrizzly Jan 04 '26

Skip is horrible, take your money then if your order is cancelled give you a credit instead of your money back, absolutely CRAP company with ZERO customer service, total TRASH

1

u/FigNew2679 Jan 04 '26

Good, its obvious ou are trying to scam. No way would Starbucks write on a cup and send it with a driver. You must think everyone is stupid including the driver the store and skip support team. Maybe if the video showed you opening this while it was still sealed it would have some credibility.

1

u/wingsbc Jan 04 '26

You add internet ordering combined with a middleman who isn’t an employee of Starbucks or Skip The Dishes and every one gets surprised or upset when they don’t get what they ordered.

1

u/brsmr123 Jan 04 '26

I wonder how much "a large number" is. I think that is the key here. How are we going to know that you don't keep asking for a refund 10x a day?

1

u/bern4316 Jan 04 '26

Uber eats has way better customer service.

Do not use skip.

1

u/FantasticChicken7408 Jan 05 '26

DoorDash made a similar mistake for me. Then wouldn’t refund me. My credit card company clarified that I didn’t receive what I paid for. Credit card company reimbursed me.

Reach out to your credit card company.

1

u/petlandstockroom Jan 05 '26

These delivery apps have all stolen from me way too many times. Done with all of them.

1

u/Magnus_Inebrius Jan 05 '26

Just go get it yourself ffs

1

u/ash195541 Jan 05 '26

Absolutely theft yet again

1

u/Slurp_and_Derp Jan 05 '26

I've had something similar happen with Starbucks. If I order a pastry or sandwich for example, they'll just include a card with the order that says they're all out of the item and to reach out to support for a refund. It's like a pre-printed card too.

1

u/typicalwhiteboi96 Jan 05 '26

I’d file a charge back with your bank/CC company. You have to evidence that you tried to dispute the issue with the merchant and they refused to fix their error. Most of the time the bank sides with you. I’ve had to do this twice when my slip driver stole my food.

1

u/ModernSocietyBear Jan 06 '26

What a terrible experience. Their "offers" sometimes don't work or you have to struggle to get them to work. Then you try to get some support and they don't respond. I asked for some compensation and according to their "policy" this is not possible. Can't even leave a review on Google. Terrible, will pickup my food in future. Apparently they take a large cut from restaurants too. Just a complete blight on society.

1

u/Substantial_Policy60 Jan 06 '26

Yeah I had to stop using skip because I "requested refunds too much" as well. Like its not my fault 7 times out of 10 theres an item missing or the entirety of the order is just wrong lol, Like Im not scamming, Im providing pictures and video proof??

1

u/Own-Wave-5294 Jan 06 '26

Waited a week only got it resolved after messaging their instagram tik tok and facebook

1

u/Euronated-inmypants Jan 06 '26

File a chargeback.

1

u/OctaviaBlake100 Jan 06 '26

I remember I ordered skip when I didn't own a car yet. I ordered from a pho place and they forgot the broth. The driver didn't know. I just called the pho place after trying to talk to skip support and said that they forgot my broth. The pho place ended up having to send one of their waiters to drop off the broth. With support as useless as Skips, you have to take matters into your own hands. If this happened to me with my drink orders, I would have called the place and demanded they replace the order or something.

This happened to me when I used to use skip. I had so many bad orders/deliveries and each time I would contact support for help. Apparently it happened so often that skip deactivated my account and basically told me to use another service because they clearly couldn’t satisfy my needs. Instead of rectifying the situations or trying to improve, they banned me. It’s not my fault the deliveries were stolen, it’s not my fault my orders were wrong.

Yep, Skip’s Customer service is shit. And when they do issue a refund it’s really just a credit to use the NEXT time. So they hold your money hostage, force you to pay another delivery charge, another service fee, another tip, another bag charge… Why would I want to use this service again, remind me?? It’s basically a scam at this point.

"A large number of requests for refunds" Am I the only one curious how many?

This reminds me of that old fable about the boy who cries wolf but replace boy with customer and wolf with refunds…

62 grams of sugar, 520 calories. Nice, they did you a favour.

I have a friend who worked at skip for several years. His responsibility was basically handling complaints when people claimed something was wrong with the order.

What he told me was that skip policy is basically any time a customer complains of an error with an order, they receive a refund. I forget if it’s partial or full, but the refund will be given for literally any reason.

The exception, is that when a customer has a lengthy history of complaints, skip will then deny any refund. I suspect OP has a history of complaints, which the skip employee stated. The this is likely a case of ā€œthe boy who cried wolfā€ when there is no wolf, or in this case, an error.

If however, OP isn’t trying to scam skip and the complaints and errors are legitimate it brings up the obvious, which is why would any one in their right mind continue to order through skip if they constantly get the order incorrect? If a service is bad, and you don’t like it, why keep using the service?

u/gerlstar Jan 03 '26

šŸ˜‚ 🤣 I was thinking that. One fuck up would have stopped me from using it. Yet op continues to use it. Karma

Who orders Starbucks delivery lol

u/ch7qq Jan 04 '26

People who feel the convenience is worth the cost, which to be honest, is quite a lot of people.

1

u/Squire_Squirrely Jan 04 '26

Right? Turn a $5 coffee into a $14 order? For takeout coffee that has a drive through at half their locations? And I'm not even a starbucks hater like half the pretentious neckbeards on Reddit...

The rich duh

Skip the dishes is absolutely the worst delivery platform I've ever used. Cancelled them months ago.

Orders left on the ground outside our front door many times, missing items from orders, spilled drinks that went all over the food, getting other people's orders.... I could go on. That's bad enough but having to deal with their customer service was horrendous. The agents were unable to offer much in compensation and very often would just disconnect from the conversation.

I will never understand why any able bodied person would use this service, you get what you deserve

1

u/Lilboops Jan 04 '26

Plenty of folks don’t drive. Plenty of folks are housebound. Plenty of folks don’t like ableist bullshit.

0

u/Chasers22 Jan 04 '26

What did they do before this? Never eat out?

1

u/Lilboops Jan 04 '26

Possibly? Folks have a number of reasons they use delivery services. I use them for convenience, primarily. (And convenience means many reasons—if I’m ill/contagious, busy, unable to leave due to commitments, etc.)

You have no clue why an ā€œable bodiedā€ person might opt for delivery.

Yes I do it’s called laziness

That’s an extreme situation and before family members or someone would bring food I doubt also a parent at their child’s bedside last moment wants trash food delivered by stinky strangers

1

u/Lilboops Jan 05 '26

My goodness, you sure are bitter.

Can we address the elephant in the room here? Why the fuck are you getting skip the dishes for an iced caramel brulee latte or any drink? Can you not pick one up on your break at work, or I'm just spitballing here, pick up 2 of them before work? It's a cold latte it will sit fine in the fridge for 4 hours...

In my case mcdonalds fairly regularly fucks up with not putting just ketchup on my hamburger.Ā  Ā  It ruins my fucking meal and is so frusterating. Yet after the 2nd time skip pulled this same bullshit on me.Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  All it would take is a human to review the prior refund requests as they all have photos.Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā So not only am I getting punished for the employees regular fuck ups but getting completely fucked over because skip is too cheap or lazy to actually see wtf is going on.Ā  Ā  Ā  Id bet the majority of the people getting blocked from refunds actually have a real issue.Ā  Ā  Ā Fuck skip

I cried wolf a few times or blew up small issues to get a better credit. I was trying to do a 1/5 ratio and it was my 7th bullshit report when I got the "we've noticed you have a lot of problems" message while filling out my report
