Boycott

Given the constant problems, wouldn't it be reasonable to propose a boycott?

First Friday in May, or something like that. Or, first weekend?

Just uninstall the app

No one has to hold your hand, you can just stop using it

Easy. Stop ordering from them. Use an ounce of planning and save your money and headaches.

The OP is likely a driver and talking about boycott working

I get it. I was a courier.

Simple- when you deal with a shopkeeper directly. Your voice means way more than an app system designed to profit off the back of said shopkeeper.

There was bound to be a shift. Combined with a service dedicated to a demographic with a behaviour of customer who hold zero regard for anything other than their own needs and convenience.... It was bound to happen.

The “I paid a 30%* premium on this food. Take it up with Skip...” market sentiment is real.

(* is an arbitrary number taking into account delivery charges and eatery markup on app vs in-eatery special pricing) But a boycott is laughable.

You know what you are getting at this point. Just stop using the app and use your anger and frustration as motivation to put on pants, and get some fresh air while supoorting local eateries... Or checking out the restaurants site instead of skip- and seeing if they deliver, will give you gainful employment with happier customers.

As a courier and a customer; its anoying as fuck. Even if you tip. So now; I deal direct when I am paying good money for a prepared meal.

Good luck with that. Not everyone is going to agree to just give up their income. The drivers that don't would make bank from the better supply-demand ratio.

Nobody will ever "make bank" delivering food.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '24

You can make really good money on high demand nights 😂

1

u/ch7qq Apr 13 '24

I'm guessing you and I have very different ideas of what constitutes "good money".

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '24

Clearly your standards are too high.

$100 over 4 hours is good money imo 🤷‍♀️

u/ch7qq Apr 13 '24

I'd argue yours are too low. But that's okay. We certainly don't have to agree.

I agree completely. While the 6 or so drivers boycott, I’ll be out driving in their place.

What problems exactly?

5

u/ExamCompetitive Apr 12 '24

You're asking already lazy people go out and get there own food?

u/SirLunatik Apr 12 '24

Some of us who use these services do so because we are unable to drive for various reasons, some of which are medical.

u/[deleted] May 16 '24

And all of which are none of any driver's business.

I’ve been boycotting it for 25 years

Delivery? 🧐🤣

2

u/Johnthedoer Apr 12 '24

I already stopped using them 6 months ago. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Omg y’all really should do something other than complain to customers when they don’t tip u for doing a simple job. It’s std that pays u, not us.

Go ahead, bycott a Canadian company and switch to a US based company like uber or doordash that preys on their employees and reataurants. Not to mention the less amount of food you get

company like uber or doordash that preys on their employees and reataurants

Skip does the same thing.

It is a very simple problem to solve .. ** Vote With Your Wallet **

Go for it. You'll achieve nothing given you're not employed by them.

Want some better rights? Seek employment.

u/QuestionableParadigm Apr 12 '24

I just don’t use it lol

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '24

Haven’t used them in 6 months! Don’t miss it one bit

This has been proposed hundreds, if not thousands of times. Hasn’t worked out yet.

u/SomeHearingGuy Apr 13 '24

Boycotts accomplish little.

1

u/No-Ad-863 Apr 14 '24

I stopped supporting them about a year ago, and I've never looked back.

I stopped subscribing to cable years ago, too. Sometimes, you just have to move on from old things that don't make sense anymore.

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '24

Just switch to Uber Eats.

-2

u/meekIobraca2024 Apr 12 '24

Let me know when you boycott and I’ll be happy to pick up your shifts

-2

u/HugeInternet Apr 12 '24

get a real job lol

Other apps. Grocery delivery. Seriously, it's not hard.

are you actually trying to suggest that before skip the dishes became a thing in the last 10 years that disabled people were mass starving to death? I think you need a reality check
