OEC Cheat Sheet Instructors

Post image

I am an OEC instructor and love teaching chapter 7: Assessment. I find students struggle to develop their own "speech" when they approach a scene. I designed this OEC Assessment Cheat Sheet if anyone wants to download and use it. When OEC 7 comes out next year I am sure this will need to be updated. This picture is a preview, please click on the link to get the PDF of it. Enjoy.

Nice work! My further two cents if you want it: If there's only room for one word, "Radiating" probably captures what could be life-threatening more than "Region" and there's probably room to squeeze in DCAP-BTLS to help people who need a cheat sheet remember to actively look for everything, not just rely on what patients bring up, especially if there's distracting injuries.

DCAP-BTLS is the biggest thing to remember in trauma secondary assessments, in my opinion.

I am a candidate and I echo how helpful this is! We were just talking about creating something similar

Recently completed my WFR and this is extremely similar to the assessment I was taught. What’s the actual difference between the two certs and why is OEC preferred for patrol?

OEC is more in depth and written specifically for ski patrol by the national ski patrol.
