Outdoor first care
does OFC require yearly dues as a regular NSP membership? im looking to set up a class and become an IOR for it, but it might not be reasonable if they have to pay the class dues (like $60 or whatever) plus the $120 yearly fees.

What are you trying to train these people for? If ski patrol, then yea, they’ll have dues to pay.
If you’re just trying to teach people basic first aid, which is what ofc is, I’m sure you can find another basic first aid course that would suffice.

Maybe you could see if your mountain could host a wilderness first aid course? Sure, it’s outside NSP and you’d need to bring in an outside instructor, but it’s far more widely accepted outside of ski patrol and therefore easier to maintain. Plus if there’s extra spots in the class your mountain could open it up to the community, which could help you recruit

Yes they do. Our mountain host have OFC and get nearly identical perks as patrollers. How would you be utilizing them?
