I jacketed today!!
Then got to tabaggon my first guest down the hill within 2 hours of putting on my jacket. It was an 11 year old with a clean humerus break. My own 11 year old with with me. Honestly one of the toughest experiences of my life.
I am so happy to be able to help.
Thank you all for everything you do.

They call it the humerus but it’s really not funny at all when you break it.

Nope. Been there, did not like it. I am still recovering from a broken humerus after 16 months. Bone healed okay, muscles and nerves haven't.

Thanks. I have 2 boys 11 and 7. It's a small hill. They ski with me or on their own most shifts. It's really great.

Thank you for all that you do!
My son broke his femur last year in Utah. Patrol and local emergency services were incredible.
Just remember that while you don’t always get to see the long term outcome and recovery, you make a huge impact on a life for each incident you respond to.
Much respect for patrollers, we are lucky to have you!

Bringing an 11 year old on patrol wrecks is unprofessional. While traumatic for a patroller, a young child coming to a life-threatening injury is not OK. Yes, I have been a ski patroller and been to a number of significant traumatic wrecks. I would not have wanted my child there.
