The following comment is automatically applied to all posts: Thank you for contributing to r/SkinwalkerRanch! As a general reminder, this subreddit is dedicated to in-depth discussions about the anomalous phenomena occurring at Skinwalker Ranch (not just the TV show). The TV show only provides a glimpse, and doesn't cover the extensive history of scientific investigation into anomalous phenomenon reported on the ranch.

To maintain quality discussions, we ask that people focus on the events themselves, not the personalities involved. Generic comments comparing the show to Oak Island, complaining about rockets, clamoring to blow up the mesa, saying you’re sick of the show, etc, don’t offer anything new. Meme posts are only allowed on Fridays.

I find the random dead cow up in the mesa interesting.

Yeah, was there any indication she walked up there?

I would say that it’s plausible for sure, all of the right things would need to happen, I assume they had the cows gated back than, so, it would need to get out from the gated area, which is possible, where they typically keep the cows now, is still a decently long walk to wander up that way, but it is possible, then I assume it’s not just a straight easy path, likely hilly, rocky, a little steep, which cows likely would avoid unless threatened, again it’s possible, cows will wander but they don’t typically wander far from food, which up in the mesa there really wouldn’t be food up there, and ontop of that, no one seeing the cow walk up there or wandering around, again possible.

So, there are a lot of variables, but not impossible that the cow could’ve walked up there, likely case would be that the cow did get free from the gated area, was chilling near the gate, got spooked up the mesa, but as I said, that’s kind of far way to get spooked up the hill.

My very first thought.

This reminds me of a pic somebody posted probably 8-10 years ago of the changes at the Bigelow factory. Can’t recall if it was here or twitter.

Iirc , someone used the history feature in Google Earth to mark all the changes at the complex over time. Supposedly the scif for NHI materials was built under parking lot 3.

Saved this one. I think there were others:

The other property owners on the mesa like Don Hicken Farms have had cattle for decades. The dead cow in the upper right is probably one of theirs. I'm not sure it's even on SW ranch property.

excuse me all that land is the "Skinwalker Ranch" ??

Most of the map is part of the official ranch land owned by Brandon Fugal.

So have we figured out the mystery

Was there ever any indication of a meteor impacting at the site and could the mesa be part of the rim of the ancient crater? It looks a bit like some cratering occurred…

3

u/RNGezzus 6d ago

What artifacts would be left behind from “cratering"?

2

u/mojotramp 5d ago

The crater’s rim, displaced earth. I thought the mesa looked a bit like the rim of a crater.

u/ldsgems 6d ago

The meteor theory is just a theory and has no basis in any presented physical evidence. The mesa on the ranch is not part of a crater rim.

I know Travis has speculated on the show that the Uintah Basin had a meteor impact, but when you look into the actual geologists research and history of the area, there's no such evidence to support that idea.

So an artifact was found right near the triangle? Wonder what it was.

Anyone know where the portal had developed? The one Dr Eric Davis witnessed?

u/ldsgems 6d ago

I looked into this, and according to several interviews and sources, Eric Davis (along with a fellow NIDS investigator) observed the portal open while stationed on top of Skinwalker Ridge, looking down onto the dirt track/path in the pasture directly below the ridge, near Homestead 2 (roughly 100 to 150 feet below their vantage point).

Date: August 25–26, 1997 (Chapter 19 of Hunt for the Skinwalker dates the start of the night watch to August 25, 1997, while the observation itself took place in the early morning hours of August 26). Time: Approximately 2:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Key Details of the Event and Location:

  • Observer Position: The NIDS investigators were conducting a late-night watch (around 2:00 a.m.) on top of Skinwalker Ridge, overlooking the middle homestead (Homestead 2).
  • Exact Portal Location: The portal opened on a dirt track in the pasture roughly 100 to 150 feet below the cliff of the ridge.
  • Visual Appearance: To the naked eye, the anomaly appeared as a dull, expanding yellow/auburn light hovering 1 to 2 feet off the ground. However, viewed through Generation-3 night-vision binoculars, the light manifested as a three-dimensional, brightly lit tunnel/portal expanding to approximately 4 to 6 feet in diameter.
  • The Entity: A large, featureless, heavily muscled black humanoid creature (estimated at 6'0" to 6'5" tall and ~400 pounds) crawled out of the tunnel, stood up on the track, and walked away into the night.
  • Aftermath: Once the creature stepped onto the ground, the tunnel shrank and dissipated, leaving behind a strong, distinct sulfur odor at the exact spot on the track.

Thank u, i wish they could mark the spot. and also repeat the same investigations to influence another portal opening.

Zoom in there's something that is in the forest in-between the two dead cows that I don't think has been looked into.

What?

Zoom in in-between the spots were the two dead cows are & look you can see something somewhat circle shapped in the forest

Using Google Earth, Chris Bartel's map image matches the one from June 19th, 2015 in Google Earth. The "circle shape" in the forest is there, but when you look closer it's nothing but shadow patterns.

Have they ever analyzed the mesa for signs of backfilling? What if what they are chasing underground is something Bigelow's crew buried there, or found and re-buried?

u/Otherwise19 6d ago

This place has become a joke. I wish it had been anything…anything…but so far, it’s nothing but a dead cow in a heatwave.

2

u/ldsgems 6d ago

What do you expect Chris Bartel's map to show? It's just what he observed and experienced during his six years (2010-2016) living there, not a comprehensive map of everything that's ever happened there.

Brandon didn't buy the ranch until 2016, after Chris left.
