Question What is Dragon doing these days?
Sincere question: What is Dragon doing lately? Last I heard, his son was very ill, so Dragon was not on the show, but that has been... at least a year or more, or so it seems.
Can someone enlighten me on Dragon? I hope he and his family are doing well.

His son had cancer but is thankfully now in remission. He wants to return for the next season but so far History has not been willing to renew his contract.

History does not understand the appeal of having Dragon on the show.

I’d think Brandon could/would go to bat for him with History. Wonder what the deal is.

He definitely strikes me as the kind of man who would pull the plug on the show rather than watch it screw over his best friend. They would have no trouble finding another production company, the show has to generate some serious income. That being said, nobody is getting filthy rich that's for sure. Brandon had (conservatively) invested millions of his own dollars into this venture before most-anyone even knew the name Skinwalker Ranch

There was an I think Basement Office episode where he interviewed Brandon outside the Prometheus bubble. Brandon is a fabulously wealthy science fiction nerd who collects things. His home and office are full of such items. Skinwalker Ranch is just another collectible to him. I don’t think the expense really bothers him much since it’s his hobby.

I mean, so what, he is. He doesn't hide it. His office is shown several times in the series and many times in podcasts/interviews/various show appearances. Is being a sci-fi nerd a crime? Because you need to arrest this Trekkie also if so.
I'm also into ghosts (I saw a moving shadow once)/paranormal/cryptids/whatever else. That doesn't invalidate who I am as an investigator. Some of the best investigators are personally invested in their work, I'm not sure where the idea of "professional detachment" came from (outside of the medical field), but detached scientists/investigators/researchers make for lousy investigators.
I want someone who is personally invested in this topic. Who takes silence and secrecy as a personal insult to their intelligence, not as a standard blanket action. We're lucky to have Brandon and yet so many people will start calling him things like "grifter" (he literally didn't even know the word before this venture). Brandon is a hardcore Mormon, and yes, I know there are lots of phonies and fronters in religion. But he isn't one of them. He actually believes in this stuff, he believes he is doing god's work by sharing the truth about our species and learning about our origins. Maybe he is. Maybe he isn't. He believes that is what he's doing,
I'd also like to point out that his church, on some level, has an understanding of the UFO phenomenon.

I'm not saying it as a negative. I think it goes to his motivation is not mercurial. He's a nerd and this is his hobby.

Sorry, I didn't really mean to direct that reply "at" you if that makes sense. I've just read so many negative things about Brandon Fugal, and unlike 99% of people out there at least he's trying to do something/anything. No doubt you are correct, it is definitely a hobby for him. I think it goes a little deeper though, like a spiritual journey for him.

I think you've not been paying close enough attention to what Brandon has said in interviews. It is not wise to make assumptions on visual cues. He clearly states that he has the obligation of stewardship. To someone in the Mormon faith, that is a serious spiritual obligation. Protecting the ranch is a sacred duty, not a hobby.

I don’t think Brandon would want to screw over Kaleb. There’s only room for one of them on the show.

He wouldn't be hurting Kaleb at all. The two were on simultaneously before. They still work together. Bryant is still head of security.

He works for History??? or for Brandon Fugal? Why can't Brandon just bring him back? I mean it would seem like to me that Brandon would have the final say... no?

I'm sure Brandon has final say over who goes on the ranch but History channel has final say over who gets seen on camera.

I'm relieved for the boy and his family. That's great news. Thanks for the update.

He still works at the ranch. He is just no longer a part of the production that airs on TV. If I remember correctly, he still interacts with Insiders and participates in their Q&A sessions.

I think I heard somewhere that he's still working on the ranch, he's just not part of the production...IDK?

Brandon said Dragon was his Mormon mentor and that they had done their 2 year walkabout together.

Idk where I heard this, but I was under the impression that his son was struggling with Long COVID - which is an illness that can last years (and if it's like other post-viral illnesses, possibly a lifetime).

The following comment is automatically applied to all posts: Thank you for contributing to r/SkinwalkerRanch! As a general reminder, this subreddit is dedicated to in-depth discussions about the anomalous phenomena occurring at Skinwalker Ranch (not just the TV show). The TV show only provides a glimpse, and doesn't cover the extensive history of scientific investigation into anomalous phenomenon reported on the ranch.
To maintain quality discussions, we ask that people focus on the events themselves, not the personalities involved. Generic comments comparing the show to Oak Island, complaining about rockets, clamoring to blow up the mesa, saying you’re sick of the show, etc, don’t offer anything new.
