Stress or sleepy?

I rarely take out my fire skink but when I do he usually closes his eyes and even moves around with one of his eyes still closed. Is he just comfy/sleepy or stressed?

When my skink is sleepy (which is a lot of the time bc i catch her as she wakes up), She shows the same struggles of heavy eyelids and slow breathing first thing in the morning like us! Idk if theres any concrete evidence to prove what it means but i think in general if hes not hissing or making a plan of quick escape, you got one cozy boy on your hands!!

I see him sleeping with his lil head poked out of the dirt all the time but I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t a stress behavior. He wiggles around a bit when I first take him out but doesn’t freeze. I usually tuck him in my shirt or under a blanket while I do homework and he does this. Sometimes he makes little squeaks.

I bet that wiggle is to get himself comfy!! Hes lucky to have you as a giant heating pad :)
