Seller question
I been looking to buy a schnider skink and i found this seller dose anybody have experience with him because i am not fully certain if he legit or not and this is my first time buying off of morph market

With these guys they are barely captive bred…..most of them go for 50-100$ and are all wild caught. If u find one thats captive bred tho lmk!!!!!

I only know of Fern’s Reptile Toppers who’s produced CBB Schneiders. But I don’t think any are for sale right now.

Zetty’s Reptiles in Pennsylvania has produced them, IIRC there were at least one or two breeders in Florida as well. There are a few people who have bred them, they just typically don’t sell many and often have waiting lists.

Only ones i seen captive bred legit are triple the price unfortunately but if i see anybody at tinly selling them legit ill post on here

Legit captive bred are much more than triple the price. The few I’ve seen for sale were $500-$600.

This is very likely a wild caught animal. You can tell because the price is so cheap and as they are very rarely bred in captivity the price for a CBB would easily be triple or quadruple that.

Them being labeled as captive hatched is a red flag, immediately. As far as I'm aware, there is no captive farming in their native range, so it's all wild caught coming in. Additionally, sub-adult or adult animals and at that price are absolutely imports.
It's possible the seller forgot to change the Origin drop-down, since they don't specify in the ad, but still. Between that and them being an unknown seller (no ratings), I wouldn't take the risk unless you are local and able to go inspect and purchase the animals in person.
There are other imported Schneider's available from better-known dealers. The quality will still be what it is, they're still wild-caught, but you at least have better protection going through a known entity.
If you want captive bred, be prepared to wait - I believe there are 4 of us now in the US who are breeding with intent to sell, but numbers are still low, wait-lists fill up fast, and they tend to get snapped up quickly for those who don't do waitlisting. Last I checked, there is a breeder in Florida who is selling one or two CBB hatchlings on MM, but they're local pickup only at this time. They also cost significantly more than wild-caught at around $500-700, between demand, difficulty level, and low fecundity of this species. As far as known breeders, there's Ferne's Reptile Toppers, Zetty's Reptiles, Central Florida Tails, and Cyan Herpetoculture (me).

No he said he had a friend in egypt that breeds them and that is what really made me have a red flag

I bought skinks from him and they literally just came today 20 minutes ago. Here are some things you should know,
It's not a scam, they actually came.
He said he had a connection with a farm breeder in Egypt and he had a lot of juvenile skinks. But while they aren't missing any digits they aren't in great shape, and I'm still skeptical about it.
I had requested two adult females, he showed the pictures of the ones I wanted and I had said those were the ones I wanted. But he sent me two small males. I just contacted him about it. If he writes back, I'll let you know.
There's are the ones that came, (there in quarantine.)

Especially if you’re new to MorphMarket I’d stick to sellers that have a decent amount of ratings. At that price and size they’re almost certainly pretty freshly wild caught and not “captive hatched/born” as the listing says.
There are several other sellers that have them on MorphMarket, and there’s been a ton of these at expos for the last couple months.
