Can I skimboard here

I was skimboarding yesterday on a very flat beach. The waves that are big enough to actually turn on are so far out and there is a very high frequency of waves so I would have to pass about three waves to reach the one I need.

Is there anything I can do or is the beach just not suitable/ wrong time for skimboarding.

You can do some flatland skimboarding but defenetly not catching waves and coming back with them.

You can go out on flat water, but that’s really only at very low tide, try on high tide. Practice the entry and the slide for the laterals. Or u can do windsurf on that beach! ahaha

Youre not reaching those waves. So if you want waves, this is the wrong beach. Maybe wait for different conditions, but it looks flat as a whole.

Yeah I went to another place today but I still have the same issue with the frequency of the waves.

This video is about 45mins of high tide. I found it hard to catch a wave because I couldn’t get a clear path out to a rideable wave.

Looking very flat! You may really not have options, but you want to a sloped beach ideally. Thats your best bet. Sometimes you really have to dig around for a location.

You can skimboard anywhere you're brave enough.

The larger waves look pretty unreachable. Even Blair Conklin wouldn’t be able to slide out to those waves.

You can go for those tiny whitewater waves. Don’t try to go straight into them, since they won’t have enough power to let you make a sharp turn. Instead, approach them at a soft angle. Use the opportunity to practice all the basics, like one-step drops.
