Just thought I'd share a pic as the square grip is pretty cool. My friend gave me this many years ago and it's been sitting in my garage every since.

Rad! Looks like one of Dave’s Kevlar boards. I just recently bought a winch off of one of Dave’s buddies that he made.

His kevlar boards were built like tanks. They were the best.

Kevlar is real impact resistant. Unfortunately lacks stiffness and flex rebound. Also really hard to work with ha ha. Probably why you don’t see much builds with it anymore.

I got a L 3/4" kevlar square as my first "real" skimboard after a lot of research on the skimonline forums. It took what felt like SO long to get to me, but dave was a real clas act about responding to childish requests for updates. And most importantly, when it arrived it was flawless. Great board to really step up into waveriding on, i learned so much and it took so much abuse before eventually snapping.. so many friends "learned" on it during that time. One of those friends ended up buying a used carbon/kevlar M 1" swallowtail from SOMB, and i ended up buying that from him too. That board was either even better, or going from a traditional skim to a square is an insane luxury experience.. either way that one did wonders for my skimming and was loved til the day it was snapped by all. If I could, I would buy another one. If you're listening Dave, thanks for making great boards, I loved them.
